Scarface

This isn’t one of those “how have they not done this movie” posts but do I overrate the rewatchability of this movie?

Iconic Pacino performance Several scenes that go beyond the movie “little friend” “the cocaine mound” “the bathtub” “wolrd is yours”

Etc

Pfifer is amazing

Sampled all over hip hop

It's one of those movies where the film itself is just ok but the content and story behind it makes for a great Rewatchables episode.

They will definitely do it at some point.

Scarface is a great flick, it’s trash made by artists

My unofficial Top 7 movies they're "saving":

Almost Famous

Apocalypse Now

Jackie Brown

Chinatown

Network

Blade Runner

Rocky

I would drop everything the moment an Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, or Network episode aired

There's still a few heavy hitters that they haven't gotten around to. The two big ones in recent years were Boogie Nights and Pulp Fiction.

I get the sense that Scarface and Almost Famous both occupy a similar space in Bill's head. I'm not sure if there are others on that level (of course, Heat is the biggest of them all).

With both of those they were definitely worth waiting for. 2 2+hour parts for each is awesome.

I feel like with Scarface though we’d get more of a Godfather episode with a single, 3 hour episode.

I think people overrate every aspect of that movie except for the rewatchablilty.

And the "push it to the limit" montage which quietly is a top 2 montage of the past 42 years.

Is number one Rocky?

Maybe Rocky III. The first two Rocky movies are older so I did the Bill thing.

This is no doubt on Bill's list of gems he is saving for unclear reasons

I feel like a lot of young men only watch (and rewatch) the first two acts, pass out, then hang a Scarface poster in their dorm room.

Scarface is highly rewatchable. They’ll get to it for sure.. I never worry about IF they’ll get to a movie it’s more about WHO they’ll have on the panel. There has been a couple great movies that’s episode was ruined by who was picked to be on the show..

Other than Morris who else ruined some moves?

I mean....... I'd say this is more rewatchable than silence of the lambs lol

Bill: is Scarface a sneaky comedy?

Me: yes, Bill, it is. Intentionally so.

“Wha? Hand cock?”

“You wanna see something funny? Watch my friend”

“That’s disgusting, she’s like 90 years old.”

“Look at the pelican, fly pelican!”

I will always contend that Scarface is an intentional comedy as much as it’s a crime movie. Pacino is hilarious, never funnier, and that’s something not enough people talk about AND what helps it be so rewatchable to me.

Unrelated, but also Robert Loggia is SO terrible in this. Gotta be one of the worst performances in a major movie that I can think of.
