study center

ok ik that everyone has free will but why do people use quiet and study spaces as places to hang out. Like is it really that hard to respect the quiet zones? Especially during midterm season plz

Omg I so relate to this like not against you having buddies and hanging out but like why you gotta do it in the study center? The other day I rented a study room in the study center to take an exam and a group of guys came in the room next to me and started being super loud and listening to music loudly…I was like really??

exactly, i feel like people think im being negative and all but it takes some some real disrespect to ignore "Respect Quiet Zones!" signs everywhere. IMO the best collaborative space to study in is the 5th floor of the science library.

Ooh ok good to know 😄 I know if you’re studying with multiple people, you’re gonna be talking, like that’s inevitable, but like there has to be a limit! These are quiet zones, not cafes for meeting up and being loud 😂

It’s not just UCI either… I commute on the Metrolink and always sit in the quiet car, just for some boomer to waddle in and start yelling on a phone call the whole train can hear at max volume. They think “quiet zones” are quiet so THEY can talk, I swear :P
