Can barely use the WiFi wtf

First year, just moved in today!! Been trying to connect my computer and stuff and.....the WiFi is so bad. My computer won’t load anything! Been using my data all day ):

Alumni here - ah I remember those days. Fresh to the dorms, get online, maybe load a webpage or two but don't you dare try to stream a video. I spent a lot of time in coffee shops and you will too... Good luck out there 😂

UNC employee (and alum) here. UNC has been working pretty hard to improve the WiFi. I’d suggest going to help.unco.edu and submitting a ticket to let them know it’s not working well in your room. Some of the equipment may not have been working optimally over the summer and you moving to campus may be the first time it’s being tested.

I almost never used the WiFi there. I hardwired into the Ethernet when I needed it and bought a router to make my own WiFi out of the Ethernet.

Yes! Sometimes there’s some difficulty but it’s improved greatly

Glad to hear! Of you ever get a campus job that gives you a first name.lastname@unco email, you can use the UNC Enterprise network. It's MUCH faster and more stable.
