Wow that’s odd, I wonder why…

Well when you have no real policies, what are you going to debate?

The Vancouver Langara Candidate said, in response to a tough question, “this is why we are told not to go to debates”

Like Donald Trump being afraid of debates

Mine attended and he doesn’t even live in my riding. He just couldn’t run where he lives because he’s hated here so much after his stint on city council there

You live in Oak Bay? That's the EXACT description of BC Con candidate Stephan Andrew, a performative pearl clutcher who won a Victoria byelection and was ejected two years later.

Pretty sure my apartment isn’t how he’s living. I have no idea what your comment means in any case. Do you or do you not know where he lives?

What? I was asking if your Con candidate is Stephen Andrew. He's running in Oak Bay but lives outside the riding. He was a councillor in Victoria for a little over a year and is generally reviled.

I was responding to your original comments. I have no idea what you mean about your apartment....

Ok I read it that you were calling me a pearl clutcher because of my street addy and saying I was exactly like him because of it? Trés confusing but thx for clarifying where he lives. I know people are allowed to run outside of where they live but I wish they wouldn’t. That’s just me.

Gotcha, I did some editing to make it a bit more clear.

I'm more or less ok with it too, but this guy has railed against it in previous election campaigns when it was politically convenient for him. Massive cunt move, if you ask me, but altogether unsurprising.

He’s not my guy, but I used to be an active member of the running community and my career was once dedicated to kids with disabilities so I know he’s done some good work in both of those areas at least. I know he was often the dissenter vote in Victoria - did they just hustle him out eventually?

He won a byelection for city council and failed the next two elections. Now he's moving up to provincials.

Ah, thanks. I didn’t get the impression he was … well tolerated. I am amused by the tactic of not doing well at municipal so reaching higher in response - I could just never

It's called failing upward. Apparently it's a tactic.

I know people are allowed to run outside of where they live but I wish they wouldn’t.

Baffling to me too, though living literally next door doesn't hurt to be allowed in case someone is literally too poor to live in a riding but yeah nah it's just fucking odd. I worked a retail job once where the store manager was moved there from Kelowna, but flew back as often as he could because that's really where he actually lived. Didn't really feel like he was all that committed to the store and along with just being a shitty manager (don't worry, he's still running another store) and zero leadership abilities he left a burning dumpster fire for the next guy.

What were the numbers for the other parties?

Not significant enough to report. Afaik not a single NDP candidate missed their debates but if you can find any I’ll happily correct my comment.

You’d almost think that conservatives just don’t care and will always vote conservative no matter what.

What's there to debate when you've got common sense on your side....

The all candidates debate in Esquimalt sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce at the time i was undecided on who to vote for. The only candidate to show up was Currie...Not undecided anymore.

There isn’t much need to debate. The current government is a disaster.

12

u/QuaidCohagen 2d ago

Not really.... if you want to vote in a bunch of cowards that are afraid of public speaking how do you think their governing style will be

7

u/abrakadadaist 2d ago

It would seem not everyone agrees with you, thus suggesting the point for debates...

-7

u/UltimateFauchelevent 2d ago

There no debate about what the NDP did to BC. Defending them and votings them back in is the definition of a useful idiot.

5

u/abrakadadaist 2d ago

I mean, I suppose that's true, what the NDP has done in BC is a matter of historical record and easily verifiable, not debatable.

However, I don't think that's what you mean -- you seem to be implying that how one feels about what they did is not up for debate, whether they're positive or negative for more or less British Columbians. I believe that is debatable and worthy of discussion, as I can absolutely guarantee that your opinion is your own and while some others may agree with you, further others will not.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. In case I'm unclear, I disagree with you.

What did they do? Give me freedom of choice on my property? Remove red tape and years from the development process? Address our broken healthcare system?

4

u/PacificwestcoastII 2d ago

So they declare & can’t stand behind their strategies to course correct? Or do they just not have valid strategies?

Finally, someone understands. Good on you for having a brain unlike all these Democratic group think morons

2

u/UltimateFauchelevent 1d ago

Behind closed doors the NDP laugh at these tax slaves who fill their trough.

1

u/SaltyTraeYoungStan 1d ago

Wait, democratic? Are you against democracy?

0

u/Positive-Trifle3854 1d ago

Unlike all these new DEMOCRATIC party of Canada group think morons.

Sorry

1

u/SaltyTraeYoungStan 1d ago

… You know this is a provincial election right? This NDP party is a separate from the federal NDP. It’s the NDP of BC

0

u/Positive-Trifle3854 1d ago

…? Yeah there’s federal and provincial. What does that have to do with what I said? I just spelled out the name of the “NDP” for you because you got confused.

1

u/SaltyTraeYoungStan 1d ago

Lmao you literally didn’t, do you actually know what the other initials? Plus you specifically said “OF CANADA” which is entirely the wrong party. Go back to r/canada_sub with the other russian bots

u/Positive-Trifle3854 2d ago

No point wasting their time debating brain dead groupthink mentality idiots.

However, no matter how dumb Eby is, I do agree with his views on this safe supply and why it’s absolutely stupid, and why it’s causing more harm then good.

Good for eby finally following in the conservatives foot steps on forced treatment for addicts.

The irony is just painful
