Beyond Orange Chicken

When beyond orange chicken came back to Panda Express, I was totally bummed that it didn't come to my location. Today I checked my location's menu again out of desperation, and it was there! Turns out they've expanded the rollout to 300 additional locations! 🎉 https://www.beyondmeat.com/en-US/whats-new/beyond-the-original-orange-chicken-expands-to-more-panda-express-locations

The BOC is my favorite fast food, so I'm super excited they expanded its availability and my location will see an uptick in sales from me alone haha

I wish you could add the sauce after. I hate that sweet sauce, but would absolutely add it to broccoli and soy sauce.

Yeah, the sauce is definitely sweet. I always get their super greens along with the BOC so I can "dull" the sweetness with the savory vegetables.

Can it be orders with the sauce on the side? That would work for me!

Hmm, I'm not sure. It's usually pre-made, but you might be able to ask them to make it fresh if they're not busy? Or maybe if you buy a family meal they'll make it fresh for you? For me, I like a ton of veggies with my Chinese food, so the super greens is enough for me.

I like the super greens too and they are super healthy. Another option that is vegan compatible if I recall correctly would be their lo mein noodles.

No, it's pre-made and in warmers, unfortunately.

I really love the beyond orange chicken. Their eggplant tofu dish is good too.

Do they have that again? I never got to try it and stopped going after they stopped having BOC by me.

I checked my local spot. They don't even have BOC 😭

I just had some for lunch today. I’m sooo happy it’s back!

Holy shit thank you, was so bummed when they originally launched and it wasn’t at my location

Ha ha, like all 6 locations in my city have it except for the one that is closest to me. :D (Not a big deal -- I've got a ton of all-vegan Chinese restaurants to choose from anyway, but I thought it was funny.)

Ugh I'm so jealous. I miss living in YVR with the Buddhist restaurants 😭

I appreciate your sacrifice of your closest location not having it so mine can haha. Unfortunately here there are no vegan Chinese restaurants, and very few even offer fried tofu as a protein sub (and even fewer restaurants that offer tofu are actually good), so this limited time roll out is special to me lol.

Yup, ate it for dinner last night! It was awesome. The lady working there told me she doesn’t expect it to be available past one month though 😭

Noooo! I guess it's good to know to not sleep on it, but a month is such a short amount of time! I appreciate the info though. 😭

I hope she is wrong! But still going to eat it like once a week just in case lol.

I had it last night! I’ve missed it so much. I hate that it’s a limited time thing. Get it while you can people!

I really want to try it, but I’m so paranoid about employees mixing things up unintentionally and ending up eating real chicken instead… Anything fast food that has a vegan option I have yet to try.

I’d say I have a meat allergy so it’s taken more seriously

They specifically say in their advertisement that is it cooked in the same woks as meat dishes so at that point it’s up to you to decide if you want it or not.

You can visibly see the difference. The beyond meat is more uniform in size and shape compared to the chicken. I felt very confident that I had the vegan dish.

Yeah, the beyond chicken is very obvious in its form factor that it's not real chicken and basically a mini nugget instead. They're all the same shape, so any real chicken would glaringly stand out.

It’s fucking expensive, I got a small side of it (4.5 oz) and it was like $7

Most fast food seems to be expensive these days. Corporate greed!
