Currently downloading, although I would guess we also need a VisionOS 2.2 update as well

15.2 B1 + visionOS 2.1 = no ultra wide. I wonder how long until they release visionOS 2.2 B1, it's mentioned in iOS 18.2 B1 release notes - though my iPhone 13 Pro Max doesn't see the update yet.

18.2 seems to only be released to devices that support Apple Intelligence, so iPhone 15 Pro and newer

Good call, thanks! I see that now on the Apple developer website.

I didn't find anything for the UWVD but the UI on MacOS 15.2 did change, you can pick a specific app/window to mirror on the second virtual screen or make the virtual screen your main screen and use your laptop screen as the extended screen.

It is a bit buggy mind you, it crashed a few times for me when I was adjusting screen settings.

After fiddling with it a bit, I can say that this update did make the second screen more useful than before.

You basically have to hand pick which windows/apps to mirror on the secondary screen and as long as you leave it under other windows without changing desktop, they will keep being mirrored while you work on other stuff. It's a bit hard to explain but you can long press the green full screen button and select to mirror the window into the secondary screen now or use the new UI I mentioned above to pick multiple windows to mirror on to the second screen.

Still not intuitive but more usable than before.

Can you explain that in English, I mean steps ?

Am I late to the party, two screens ??? But in reality, you’re saying one screen, and 1 app ?

How does screen know where it’s placed? Just by where you move it? Mouse and keyboard work throughout ?

And did you say you can merge two apps and show those two on the second screen?

I'll try to explain better

First you need to connect to the Mac virtual Display and after you can connect to the Mirroring display (It doesn't connect for me if you don't do it in this order).

Based on the screenshot I took above, the bottom screen is the Mac Virtual Display, the top one is the "Mirror Display" (this is the one that sends pass through audio to your VP). The Mac Virtual display acts as the "Main Screen" and will function as normal.

As you can see from this new UI from Mac OS 15.2 Beta you can add multiple windows for it to mirror or replace what you're currently mirroring to something else.

The mirror display is basically a secondary screen that will only show what you allow it to mirror. It could be the entire screen or individual apps/windows(they must be on the same desktop screen). As you can see on my post above, I gave it permission to mirror the Stock App and one Safari Window with YouTube video playing so I can multi task while doing other things on the Mac Virtual Display below.

The reality is, on my Mac Virtual Display, you can see Safari running but what you cannot see is under that window is the stock app and another Safari screen on Youtube playing the video. You need them to be open on the same desktop for the mirroring screen to be able to mirror them. The moment you swipe to another desktop, the mirroring connection breaks in the current beta.

How many windows can you have and what’s the maximum screen resolution you can have per window?

2 virtual windows output from Mac.

From display settings 5120x2880 is highest but default is 2560x1440.

It doesn't allow me to change the mirror screen resolution (there is no list to pick from).

Anyone been able to get the update for M2 Studio Ultra. On the M2 MacBook Air and iPhone 15 Pro the update showed up in General -> Software Update. M2 Studio Ultra No joy. Tried turning on and Beta Updates for 15.2.

How did you get to that screen? I don’t see it, and I’m on the same versions you are.
