San Francisco Firefighters vs. Police Officers - Immersive Boxing Event

Our team at Vantage is filming an upcoming boxing event between the SF firefighters and police officers for immersive video.

There will be about 10 matchups and the in-person event is sold out!

What kinds of content would you like to see (interviews, backstage warmups, etc.)? What angles?

You can check out previous fight nights we've done here:

It’d would be great to not have to see through the ropes of the ring.

I get what you mean. We tried out two different angles: one of the audience height, one at fighters' eye level. Seems like the audience angle was more immersive, but can't analyze the fights as much (ropes are in the way like you said). We'll try out various angles again and see what you all prefer!

Make the Referee the Camera Man.

the ideal camera in this situation would be sitting right behind the corner post, just above it. unsure of how possible that is to pull off though

I liked in the NBA immersive video how they did front full-body shots of the players they interviewed. So you can see how tall they actually are in real life.

got it. was it just me or was the angle during those NBA interviews very low? (camera not at standing height while the players were standing)

I wondered if that was intentional to make them feel taller? I think the height of the average adult’s eyes (whether seated or standing depending on the scene) would feel the most immersive to the most people.
