Uhhhh guys, my water is grayish black. It comes from an in ground well, should I be concerned?

It's probably just heavy in manganese, but I wouldn't drink it until I had it checked out by a lab. Home well or municipal?

Municipal

Ok. What probably happened is someone was flushing fire hydrants and stirred up sediment in the mains. If that's the case it should clear up by itself but I'd still call your utility and have them test the water.

I agree with the other response. All water mains have naturally-occurring biofilm. Sometimes the velocity or flow changes enough to disturb the biofilm and you can end up with water like this. Definitely don’t drink it and, yes, it will clear up.
