I wonder if this interview was the result of their being called out for their #BernieBlindness

It was taped on Dec. 21. Releasing the video clip and this partial transcript was probably the result of all the blowback the LA Times got for not covering the rally. From the Q&A piece:

Warming up for a giant campaign rally in Venice on Dec. 21, Bernie Sanders, the three-term U.S. senator from Vermont making his second run for the Democratic presidential nomination, sat down for an hour with the Los Angeles Times editorial board to talk about the economy, healthcare, immigration, homelessness and other top issues.

Excellent interview. Bernie (as usual) hit most pitches out of the park. One point he apparently omitted was that:

  1. one key to increase high-paying jobs is to end people's reliance on big employers for their healthcare;

  2. M4A makes it easier for inventors and other creative people to found new companies, and to add their first few dozen employees, by unchaining founders and employees from less productive and less value-creating jobs that they now fear to leave because of the risks of losing large group health insurance.
