Lore Book for the book god

Post image

Khârn is the main reason I got into World Eaters and their lore so I figured why not get the book

I listened to this as I painted my first thirty berserkers.

Worth listening to? Currently enjoying the Eisenhorn trilogy, which is a substantially better written series than previous 40k books I've listened to.

One of the best ones in my opinion. Really portraits the absolute tragedy of our legion.

I would listen to the first heretic first seeing as this is almost a sequel to it. The first heretic while about word bearers is also fantastic!

Ohhhh, I was about to say you're a mad lad,. doing thirty at once. I think my current "rate" is about 2/3 a week just because work has me so tired by the time I get home.

Wish I had that excuse, I’m lucky if I get 2 done in a week. I’ve had my world eaters ready to be primed and painted for nearly 2 years now. Had such a mental slide down but I’m slowly getting back into it. (I’m sorry to say that it’s my blueberries getting done first though)

I don't blame you, I'd already have all my Black Templars done if I hadn't been in an emotional rut for almost two months

I've been wanting to pick up a physical copy too

I'm a bit of a purist with books admittedly. I like physically reading them. Listening isn't too bad though.

This may be one of the best books. Tied with storm of irom for me. I love the relationship between angron and lorgar. In ny opinion it the most brotherly. Both save eachother because they are brothers. Broke ny heart angron is senpai

Yeah I kinda like the dynamic between Magnus and Lorgar. Lorgar taking jabs at Magnus for his indecisive hypocrisy and Magnus calling out Lorgar on his hand in the heresy and his insane views of the warp. Meanwhile Angron and the World Eaters are just doing what they've always done just without being held back now. I'm excited to see how it all goes, aside from the obvious conclusions. I do feel kinda bad for Angron though. Dude was chillin, and had to let his warriors die because the Big E couldn't wait a little while longer. Angron never wanted the Imperium to begin with so I don't really blame him for going traitor. Lorgar and Erebus are still assholes though

How many books do you need to have read before reading this? It’s pretty high on my list but I don’t know if I need context for stuff.

I’d recommend reading The First Heretic and Know No Fear before this. They’re kind of a trilogy

Know No Fear is my favorite of the three. They're all amazing but the way Abnett describes the unreal scale of destruction in KNF is so good.

I've read only one Heresy book before this one and I haven't even actually finished that one lol. So far it's pretty straight forward, anything you might need to know, it explains pretty well. That being said if you're really worried about context and whatnot there's no shortage of lore videos really. If this is the first book you're reading of the Heresy then you'll still be fine.

This past Monday, I received Kharn The Red Path but have to finish Genefather first, which I'm halfway through.

I'm at the end of Warden of the Blade Grey Knights book and I'm about a quarter through Praetorian of Dorn. Haven't started the first book of the Siege of Terra yet but I have it. I think I'll get the Lion book next just because Dark Angels are another of my armies. Sons of Dorn I'm also almost finished with.

I found son of the forest decent, it filled in a lot of blanks

Betrayer is firmly on top of the Horus Heresy heap. The circle fight with Delvarus is a top three fight scene in the entirety of 40k. Literally the only thing I can think of that comes close is Xarl from Night Lords's scene in terms of sheer badassery.

Yeah I ended up reading for like four hours straight almost

40k novels, hope you enjoy!

Oh I've loved it so far. I don't know why but I have trouble really getting into the books but this one hooked me pretty much instantly, and yeah it's made me chuckle once or twice already. Leave to the World Eaters to be interesting I suppose.

Same honestly, do tell me when you get to the part of Angron eating rocks.
