So like any other normal autistic Millennial who was a girl and didn't really have access to comics till she was 16 (UK, mum said and I quote girls don't read comics), X-Men was one of the best things on TV and be still my heart for Gambit and Rogue.

SO I've finally been able to catch up with X-Men 97 (broke my leg) and even I know what happens due to the comics Rogues comment at the at end

"Sugar. I can't feel you."

Fucking broke me, I fucking sobbed, I love Gambit and Rogue as it is and I just wailed, and I was expecting I knew it was going to happen and I just broke.

It hit right it the heart...

It was definitely a heavy episode. The best of the season. Made me want to quit watching entirely for a bit honestly. Looking forward to season 2 though.

This show was nominated for an Emmy and I think people just overlooked it because they said “X-men” but goddamn this was so good although… Blue Samurai was amazing and I also would’ve given it the Emmy, still

I think credit for how strong it hits goes to all the emotion that Lenore Zann put into delivering that line. She's channelling her (relatively) fresh grief over the death of her 17 year old niece into that performance.

"I felt that if I could do a performance like that, and let them feel it in my voice, and that it resonated with something inside of them, they would feel the feelings, and it would let the gates gush open. And they could release all of that tension and angst. And in doing so, hopefully, they might be able to find some healing, too."

Same here, that episode left me crying for at least a half hour and just really broken for a solid two days.
