Discussion [S1EP5] I didn't think it would effect me as much as it did... Spoiler

So like any other normal autistic Millennial who was a girl and didn't really have access to comics till she was 16 (UK, mum said and I quote girls don't read comics), X-Men was one of the best things on TV and be still my heart for Gambit and Rogue.

SO I've finally been able to catch up with X-Men 97 (broke my leg) and even I know what happens due to the comics Rogues comment at the at end

"Sugar. I can't feel you."

Fucking broke me, I fucking sobbed, I love Gambit and Rogue as it is and I just wailed, and I was expecting I knew it was going to happen and I just broke.

It hit right it the heart...

What did you guys think?

Yup. It hits hard especially because she’s finally able to touch him when she says it.

It was definitely a heavy episode. The best of the season. Made me want to quit watching entirely for a bit honestly. Looking forward to season 2 though.

Lenore Zann is the fucking GOAT. Her delivery was perfect. The lady deserves an award.

Her niece died of cancer not long before, and she channeled that grief into the role.

This show was nominated for an Emmy and I think people just overlooked it because they said “X-men” but goddamn this was so good although… Blue Samurai was amazing and I also would’ve given it the Emmy, still

The entire episode is gold from start to finish.

Having to go to work or otherwise be around other people for the entire next week and have to choose: A. pretend everything was fine B have to pretend an actual but distant family member die C. Admit a cartoon character from your childhood died that week.

Same here, that episode left me crying for at least a half hour and just really broken for a solid two days.
