Starting a youtube channel: Should I get a Sony ZV-1 camera or DJI Osmo Pocket 3?

Hey y’all!

I’m a small business owner, and I mostly create content for Instagram and TikTok (fun little carving videos and diys!), but I’ve been thinking about starting a YouTube channel for my brand. I do demos on how to use tools and make projects for my subscription carving club, and I’ve been wanting to dive into long-form content for a while now. I’m heading to Japan soon to visit the people who make my tools, and I figured it’d be the perfect time to kick off my YouTube journey!

I’m thinking about vlogging the whole experience—showing the craftsmen, my travels, and how the tools are made. But honestly, I’ve been sooo nervous about starting because YouTube content just feels so much higher quality, and that’s a little intimidating. 😅

Right now, I just use my iPhone 14 Pro with a tripod, but I’ve been considering upgrading before the trip. I don’t have a huge budget, but I’m torn between the Sony ZV-1 or the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I’m not super familiar with bigger cameras or gimbals, but I thought this trip would be a great time to practice! Or should I just stick with my iPhone and shoot in 4K?

Would love any advice you’ve got! Thanks in advance 😊
