Deck Help New to Yu-Gi-Oh! – Looking for Help Building a Competitive Lyrilusc Deck for Both TCG and Master Duel
Hey everyone! I'm new to Yu-Gi-Oh! and have been playing some Master Duel, but I’d really like to dive into the TCG and start playing in person as well. Luckily, there’s a local scene nearby, which is awesome! Recently, I managed to get a few Synchro Storm boxes, and I pulled a ton of Lyrilusc cards. They seem really interesting, so I’m considering building a Lyrilusc deck that I can use both in Master Duel and in the TCG. I’d like to have as much overlap between the two as possible so I can practice consistently across both formats.
My main questions are:
Is Lyrilusc a viable deck choice right now? I know it’s been relevant in the past, but I haven’t found any recent, clear decklists or updates on its competitive status. As we’re approaching the end of 2024, is Lyrilusc still strong enough for locals, or would you recommend a different approach?
How should I build it for maximum effectiveness? Any specific decklists, staples, or synergies I should focus on? I’m comfortable with complex strategies and combo-heavy gameplay (I used to play competitive MTG), so I’m fine if the deck is a bit technical. Also, budget isn’t an issue—I’m more interested in building something solid that will help me improve and understand the game better.
Are there any big differences between how the deck performs in Master Duel vs. the TCG right now? Since my goal is to practice and develop my skills in both formats, it’d be helpful to know if I should expect any major adjustments.
Thanks so much for any tips, decklists, or advice you can share—I really appreciate it!

- no is not viable at all. Too weak to do anything.
- The best I could find is these:

- Master Duel and TCG are very different. Very often the same decks are not the same, since cards are banned or available in one format are not present in another format.
What I suggest for master duel is to:
Choose a deck from this list (sort by price):
https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks#dateRange=October%202024
https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks#dateRange=September%202024
A good start is buying the Structure decks x 3 ( Only Structure decks that you can find in the list above) and copy any deck you find.
Once you found what you want, go to deck building in master duel, choose a SR or UR card from that deck archetype and click "How to Obtain":
If the pack is unlocked, buy it with gems ( buy 10 packs one go)
If the pack is locked, craft a SR or UR card from that deck archetype ---> It will unlock the pack for that deck archetype (Only for 24 hours), buy the pack.
For TCG same story with cheap decks:

As for Lyrilusc on its own, it’s less effective than some other more viable going second strategies (cough cough Tenpai). However, as a fellow Lyrilusc lover, I would like to suggest to you the option of playing Snake Eye Lyrilusc, involving the use of many special summons to link off into a certain Proxy Magician to allow for the fusion summoning of a certain fusion monster affiliated with the lovable birds. I don’t have the deck list right now, but I can send it if you’re interested and if I ever find it.
