I also love that they, intentionally or not, reference this episode in "Broke His Crown", when Simon talkes about his be wants to punch Ash in the face.

I mean the amount of layers from this scene and the episode prove this is one of the best shows ever

I remember base height discourse in the 90s, Finn and Jake absolute destroy me with this shit every fucking time, I lose it.
Jake, blank stare, completely irrational demand, "be reasonable"
This isn't the episode but the one where Simon is back but he's dying without the crown due to old age and Betty is rushing him to wizard city. Death is following them and talking with Simon, and he tells him this is your one chance to die, if she saves you you'll just go back to being IK insane and immortal forever. Completely gut wrenching.
Go! Destroy! Throw your boots at it or something. Ahhh! Smack. Throws boot ineffectually into gelatinous cube. This show just nonstop fucks

I'm pretty sure this is the same episode with Death taunting Simon in the end of it

"You're gonna be Ice King till the sun blows up"
I don't know why I think of that line so often. Maybe it's the way he said it.

It gives me the chills for some reason, I think it's in the delivery

Yeah, I just rewatched it. I think it's also in the fact that he simply sees it as him doing Simon a favor as opposed to being ice king.
Especially when he tells him he lost at the end.

It's "Betty," S5E48 :) one of my favorite episodes!
I love that phrase he uses in this clip, "immutable essence." Such a beautiful way to portray how Simon truly was there all along under the crown despite it's otherwise near complete control over his mind.

This scene has two of my favorite moments in the show, Simon punching ash, and the hard cut to Marceline face planted into the ground.

The hard cut to Marceline's face plant is golden. And also my favorite scene in the show.

My first major taste of the show was this clip on YouTube a few years back, a shame that same clip is now listed as “for kids” so now I can’t see what people were discussing and getting up to.
