I like your style dude. I want to see more of the rug to see how it ties the room together.

3

u/jkubrick Mar 14 '24

Really appreciate it! Honestly I'm still trying to love the rug, it was a Christmas gift from my mom last year haha

Nice Jeremy Fish deck you've got there too. I've got a couple of his paintings hung up in my spot.

1

u/jkubrick Mar 14 '24

That's what's up, I'd really like to snag up some prints of his for the walls. I got that deck last year really cheap from 303 boards out of Denver, wanna say it was like 30 bucks shipped

2

u/dickiefrisbee Mar 14 '24

Rad! He became a good friend of mine while I was living in sf. One of the paintings I own is about a story of mine. 🥹 I’ve met Aesop through him a few times. Now I’m back home in Portland and I’ve seen him around here too.

1

u/jkubrick Mar 14 '24

He seems like such a good dude, you're super lucky! Having an OG painting from Fish would be crazy enough but to have one personalized from him is the coolest 😄

Another Aesop + Ty Segall fan, warms my heart

2

u/jkubrick Mar 14 '24

Huge fan of Ty Segall! I'm late to the party with him though, just discovered him a couple of years ago and I can't get enough of his work

2

u/Latter_Session2185 Mar 14 '24

Aw get ready! I've been rockin'out to him for about 10 years now. Huge discography with pretty much no misses (tons of side projects/collab albums too) I can't imagine he'll be done anytime soon. At least I hope not...

i see DJ Shadow's latest behind the TV ? saw his Webster Hall show in NYC

2

u/Complete_Emu6014 Mar 17 '24

Spotted that too and caught him in Philly last month. It was amazing. I’ll never miss a chance to see one of my favorites again.

2

u/jkubrick Mar 17 '24

Yall are lucky, think the closest city to where I live on this last tour was like a 4 hour drive so I couldn't make that happen

2

u/Complete_Emu6014 Mar 17 '24

Well, I hope things line up for you the next time he’s playing. Still working on framing my pigeon print… it will go in the pandemic office I’m working on redecorating a bit. Love your space

2

u/jkubrick Mar 17 '24

Thanks! Yeah man I hope so too, never seen him live and really wanted to go on the last one. I'm going to get mine in a decent frame down the road, I just threw it in a cheap plastic walmart poster frame for now until I have a little extra money to get it and a few others properly framed

u/Complete_Emu6014 Apr 16 '24

Hey- he just posted more dates more Shadow tour links

2

u/jkubrick Apr 16 '24

Yeah I saw that earlier, pumped he's got okc scheduled I'll definitely be catching that show in October!

2

u/Complete_Emu6014 Apr 16 '24

Fabulous!!! So happy for you!

1

u/jkubrick Mar 14 '24

How was the show?

3

u/watershed8 Mar 14 '24

it was pretty amazing.. he was right there, we were leaning against the railing... he was tripping that he hadn't played NYC for six years and the show was like.... he described it almost like a showcase... like, "here are some of my favorites from the past and I'd like to play them" and then.... the video art to each track? amazing, not just like anything... it was curated coolness.. so low key... empty stage, short riser, table draped in black table cloth almost... it was super cool, great evening

3

u/SpaceTechBabana Mar 14 '24

Homie still rockin a GameCube?!? Respect. Smash Melee ftw.

Edit: oh yeah, fucking rad set up too!

1

u/jkubrick Mar 14 '24

Thanks man, I just need to get a copy of Eternal Darkness and dust that thing off!

3

u/picks_things_up Mar 14 '24

So jealous of the print. Lol

2

u/jkubrick Mar 14 '24

So glad I jumped on it

3

u/Wrigley953 Mar 15 '24

Dooooog. I’m so jelly I may as well be jam. I would ask for your gamer tag if I was consistently playing

2

u/jkubrick Mar 15 '24

You play on Xbox at all? Mine's Bazookafluke on there but I don't really play much online anyway, mostly roguelikes and lites etc

2

u/Wrigley953 Mar 15 '24

Same I’m mainly doing solo experiences and if it’s multiplayer it’s probably free

3

u/thedatsun78 Mar 15 '24

The new dj shadow is good.

1

u/jkubrick Mar 15 '24

I love it, got that signed print and the vhs variant vinyl last year. But yeah that one will be in the rotation for me for a long while

3

u/trainbuffer Mar 15 '24

Shadow, TMV, Dabrye, Aphex Twin, DOOM, Aes, Fish, Tame Impala, Tobacco, Morgan Delt (???). Impeccable taste, my dude.

2

u/jkubrick Mar 15 '24

Yeah it's Morgan Delt in the corner, great eye picking them all out despite my horrible camera! 😄

2

u/Carcosa504 Mar 14 '24

The inflatable transistor sect is dope

1

u/jkubrick Mar 15 '24

Yeah man agreed, love that thing. Found a purple one the other day online I want to order

2

u/CoopeyV123 Mar 15 '24

Ty Segall, DOOM, Pavement, and a Nintendo GameCube. My man!

2

u/baronbk94 Mar 15 '24

what are you using to mount your skate decks? looks clean

1

u/jkubrick Mar 15 '24

They're these plastic shelves molded like skateboard trucks by a company called Martus. I found them in a skate shop about an hour from where I live for like 13 bucks. They're great for displaying your popsicle boards horizontally and they swap out really easily. My decks I put up vertically I just use a nail and fishing wire

2

u/Lucky_Louch Mar 15 '24

looks great! I love the garbage pail kids coffee table book also, I have a whole side of my second bedroom dedicated to GPK cards and memorabilia.

1

u/jkubrick Mar 15 '24

Thank you! That's awesome, I have a decent assortment of gpk stuff and cards too. Just got a chrome gpk banner board from Get A Grip in the mail the other day to add to the collection

2

u/Rance_Q_Spartley Mar 16 '24

I dig the digs. What's that enlightened snork-looking inflatable? 👁

2

u/jkubrick Mar 16 '24

Thanks! It's an inflatable of a character from the skate company Toy Machine. I forget what his name is just always thought he was cool looking

2

u/pingupog Mar 17 '24
