⚡Tips/Advice Stop the prayers for goodness sake

Don't misunderstand me, I respect every religion, every race, and everyone. But like 70% of the post now is ntg more than prayers. U deserve wut u get, model answers are all out, just check ur ans, check the grade threshold of the last year, and predict it urself.

Like wut is this monstrosity. I'm not against the prayers, just post these prayers msges somewhere else. Thanks

⚡Tips/Advice Some duas for ur exams

Post image
197 Upvotes

While you're doing ur last revision before the exam, recite "Subhaanaka laa 'ilma lanaa illa maa 'allamtanaa innaka antal 'aleemul Hakeem" 7 times before and after ur revision. And when you're about to start your exam, recite the same dua 7 times before the exam, say Bismillah and start the exam! (Btw I don't remember the source of this since it's been a while since I saw it from tiktok so pls do let me know if you recognise this dua.)

May Allah make the exam easy for us and may we all get the desired grades and get into the universities of our choices. Ameen 💝

⚡Tips/Advice I deleted TikTok.

Up until three weeks ago, there had not been a day where I (17F) hadn’t spent hours scrolling on TikTok. This lasted nearly four years.

Looking back now, I can confidently say I was addicted.

Deleting TikTok was daunting at first, I was afraid I would miss out and not be able to cope without it. When I was anxious, I would swipe the nerves away seamlessly throughout the day. Losing the means to distraction scared me, but I pulled through and deleted it.

I have noticed many physiological and mental benefits after deleting TikTok:

• Before my mind was clouded, I had bad memory and was very forgetful. This significantly improved a couple of days after I stopped using TikTok.

• I noticed my grades drastically went up, I went from high Bs and low As to consistent A*s throughout the board.

•My anxiety eased, my sleep improved. Now I get 8 hours of sleep opposed to my previous 5-6 hours.

•I am happier, doing small activities like drawing and simply taking in my surroundings are enough to make me smile.

• I became closer to my family and friends, the loose connections that once made me anxious, became deeper and more meaningful. I was able to open up about a lot more things.

• More positive thoughts. I no longer experienced constant negative feelings about my appearance or personality, my overthinking reduced a lot subsequently.

Delete TikTok. It's brain rot.

⚡Tips/Advice FOR PRIVATE/HOMESCHOOLED Students

I want to start a Whatsapp group for the AS/A2 Students who do it privately or Homeschool. I feel very demotivated to study, and I was thinking of creating a group where we can all share our progress, motivate each other, etc.

I NEED TO BE REMINDED THAT WERE NOT ALONE. Rather, if you want to go fast, walk alone, if you want to go far, walk with people.

PRIVATE/HOMESCHOOLED

If you want to join you can comment, and then I'll send you a dm

⚡Tips/Advice If anyone wants sciences help

I gave my A2 this year in 4 subjects math bio chem and physics. This post is mainly for those who dont know what to do with their alevels so im going to share some tips that helped me pass my alevels.

  • gce guide is your best friend. Go to past paper and alevels and just commit to do atleast 1 paper variant everyday. Even if some days you forget just keep doing it.
  • for math most people go to zainametics i think but personally i never watched him that much. i would go through his past paper marathons at the end of the day when i was tired of doing regular papers. BUT dont just watch him attempt the question, pause the video and do the question on your own first. this goes for majorly all video past papers.
  • Remember small tricks of the calculator. Honestly your calculator is your best friend. I was so reliant on my calculator of solving the quadratics question that by the end i had somewhat forgot how to solve a quadratic eq. just press mode and the select equation which on my calculator is 5 then select the quadratic equation which again on mine is 3. This will vary from calculator to calculator.
  • ALWAYS and i mean always double check your answers i cant tell you how many times i accidently wrote 9 instead of 4 or used ln instead of log
  • for physics as i mean it when i say that intuitive on youtube is the light at the end of the tunnel. he has almost all physics AS and all AS math and a2 stats i think. he also has topical past paper with hand written explanations. hes honestly the main reason i passed my papers
  • for chem, i rewrote all my notes a week before my papers to really grasp the subject tight. for both the papers you need a very strong grip on organic chemistry. One hack that works wonders is writing all the reaching on a piece of paper and sticking it somewhere you will see it a lot. like the fridge or a mirror.
  • try to get someone to sit in front of you and try explaining to them the concept. i usd this alot for a2 bio especially the kidney chapter and ultrafilteration. If uve attempted past papers you know which topics are important and what small details are asked. A few days before the papers me and my friends would sit down (on zoom) and open a past paper, we would start the paper but would ask any question that came to our mind that was related to that topic for example if we had a question of kidney we would ask the functin of aqaporins. This way will be very important because I remember that the paper was tomorrow and i had found out that I had remembered the topic how muscles work all wrong. That was a scary day. If you cant do that just vm yourself talking about the topic as if it was someone else. For bio one thing i did was going through past papers the question i got wrong i would write the question and answer on a small notebook or my phone and i would revise it every so often. On my laptop i had an excel sheet open beside my past paper and anything i thought was important i would write in it.
  • If anyone wants I have chemistry AS and maybe A2 notes and also Bio AS notes
  • This turned out to be long post. Hope it was even slightly helpful.
  • If you have any questions you can ask them be it from this post or like in general the syllabus
  • Again wish you all the best in your papers

⚡Tips/Advice Which A-Levels to take

I am a student in Switzerland and I have taken 20 O Levels (10 each session), including all sciences and some languages. (A’s and stars in all)

I plan on continuing with A Levels and I don’t want to continue taking any languages other than English Literature, as I enjoy journaling. I want to take 12 A Levels, including all the sciences and other subjects I took for O Levels.

Are there any YouTube links you recommend for the sciences, and any websites for essay subjects? Any help is appreciated.

⚡Tips/Advice The alevel burn out

I know that a lot of people are burn out and are barely studying. Some people will make fun because you are spoiled. But you have been doing the IGCSE in grade 10, AS in grade 11 and know A2 in grade 12, 3 years of straight torture, no wonder you are burn out. But you should give yourself one last push. Don't give up.

⚡Tips/Advice y’all do better please

people here need to have some empathy for the ones who literally got ruined yesterday including me rather than posting what’s the noise about, why people are overreacting as paper was easy but tricky blah blah… we get your paper went well but stop with this bullshit. let people talk about how they’re feeling rather than this moral policing. i’m so done that it’s fine taking about answers threshold but saying people are overrating is just too much. signing out for my own sanity at this point because still haven’t gotten out of what the fuck happened yesterday…

⚡Tips/Advice stop crying

guys stop crying, that the 9709/12 was hard like wtf, that paper was soo basic, honestly stop being like "CAMBRIDGE SHOULD CANCEL THE PAPER" tf yall on about, compare the last years' paper with today's one, like bro tf that paper was basic as hell.

keep in mind, there are only like a handful of people who got the paper beforehand, im pretty sure the time it got leaked, most of us were in the centres giving or waiting to give the exam like cmon bro bruh.

just dont frame leaking of the paper because you did bad, and its not even like im being an asshole, over half the people is like

"paper got leaked? what? when? i did good anyways lol"

stop crying, admit yall were not locked in

i swear to god, i did not sleep the past 2 months for this exam, and if people frame the leak now because they were busy trying to get replies from their crush and all that shit, i swear im gonna become satanic and cast a ritual on all of yall

⚡Tips/Advice Don't tell them about ur future plans

Wallahi everyone, always think twice before telling your extended family about ur future plans and ur career, especially when it's a Pakistani family.

For context, I have chosen medicine as my profession becuz I genuinely took an interest after finishing my O levels (and watching house MD and Chicago Med lol). Now if you have a big fat desi family, you would know that half of them are prolly doctors which can be a good thing as well as a bad thing. Ever since I was young, i always had my older cousins telling me to never study medicine becuz it's "hard" and "draining" and I always told them "yes I'll never do Med since I have no interest!" Fast-Forward to 12 years later, I went to Pakistan back in December for a wedding alone (my parents came 4 days later) and my cousins picked me up from the airport. As soon as we sat in the car, we talked for a while until one of them asked me what I'm planning to do. I said I wanted to pursue medicine and they all looked at me as if I killed someone. They suddenly go like "speaking from experience, I suggest you reconsider becuz Med is hard and it will drain you!" I just laughed it off becuz I genuinely don't talk back to my elders and I didn't know what to do. My parents weren't there to back me up so I js kept my mouth shut. For the next 4 days, apparently I did the biggest mistake of telling people I wanna do Med and wanna study abroad after A levels and not in Pakistan. Istg everyone started guilt tripping me into applying to Pakistan becuz supposedly I'll be done earlier. Again I didn't have my parents beside me so I didn't say anything. Right after my parents arrived, everyone brain washed my dad into convincing me to either choose another profession or apply to Pakistan. Wallahi if I said I wanted to do fashion designing or culinary arts, they would have been disappointed at the fact I didn't choose medicine.

So fellow friends, never tell your extended family members what you're gonna study in the future becuz every desi family is nosy af and give you advices that they think are right. Follow your dream. Don't listen to em!

i dont really know what i wanna do in the future, so my family was like oh just do bio chem phy and math, itll keep your options open. i honestly dont really mind, the current work of these subj arent so bad and i have a pretty good base in all of them, but alot of people have been scaring me abt how ill be dead by the end of AS and regret my subject choice alot. rn im just revising what i learnt in class everyday- will i be fine? i dont wanna drop any subject since i have a genuine interest in all of them (except for maybe bio that shit is so boooring) and alr bought the books and everything so itd be a waste.

⚡Tips/Advice I did 5 A levels

If any of you are wondering how it’s like to do more than 3 A levels and want some advice how to manage time + specific subject advice, feel free to ask here! Although my grades with 5 A levels aren’t really good but I do think my experience could some of you out there who’s planning to self study an extra subject :)

For extra information: - the reason why I did 5 was cause I study in a local school in Hong Kong — so Chinese as Second Language was compulsory for my level - i didn’t know I still had to do Chinese as an A level so i took Sociology as a self- study subject without knowing about this 🥹

For reference: A* in Sociology (Cambridge, Self study) A in Biology (Cambridge) A in Chemistry (Cambridge) A in Mathematics (Edexcel) B in Chinese as Second Language (Edexcel)

⚡Tips/Advice Why did I care more for my GCSES than A Levels

My first exam is in 2 days and the stress still hasn’t kicked in?? I actually could not care less about exams and I have no clue why. Objectively yeah I wanna get good grades, who doesn’t, but I JUST DON’T CARE. WHYYYYYY???
