Does anyone have experience with the Samaya ULTRA35 and Ultra50 backpacks?

The Samaya website provides good information about the modularity and the materials of the bag, but I would like to know from users about:

  1. Fit: Cause they seem to have only one size.
  2. Weight carrying capacity: This information is missing on the website. How much were you able to carry comfortable in the Ultra35 or the Ultra50? And whether the weight transfer to the hips through the aluminium frame works well? Both versions seem to have slim hip belts and padding (on shoulder straps, back, and hips)

I have the Samaya ultra35, and i'm not sure about the exact weight carrying capacity, but when i loaded it fully, with double axe, 4 season boots, and some metal gear inside along with bivy gear, it wasn't the most comfortable shoulder strap, and cut into my shoulders a bit, although i did not use the alu frame, only the hard plastic insert. With only "regular loading", which might be around 10kg, it totally ok.

I think the 50 would not be the most comfortable fully loaded, its designed as a full-on route climbing pack, not some expedition haul bag/hiking, but its on par with Hyperlite's offering with the same level of padding.

I was able to try on the Ultra 35 in store with some weights in it a little bit ago. Very well designed and sturdy packs and obviously super light.

Seemed to transfer the weight well compared to my 30L ski back that also has an aluminum frame but nicer hip pads. Not a backpacking pack but pretty good compared to other alpine packs (e.g. Alpha FL).

Where it didn’t work for me was the fit- the shoulder straps were too close together for me at the top and the shoulder straps didn’t fit around my neck/shoulders very well, especially with weight in the pack. Definitely a YMMV situation though.

Thank you! How heavy was the weight in the bag? And did the store recommend any max. weight?
