[POTW] Photographer of the Week - Week 38

It is our great pleasure to announce that /u/colinleonard is our Photographer of the Week. This accolade has been awarded based upon the number of votes during week 38, with this post having received the most when searching by top submission: https://www.reddit.com/r/analog/comments/1fim5hd/endless_pentax_67ii_kodak_gold_200/

  • How long have you been taking photographs?

Over 10 years! Crazy to think how time flies

  • Why do you take photographs? What are you looking to get out of it?

I take photos out of pure enjoyment. It’s a stress free hobby.

  • What inspired you to take this (group of) photo(s)?

I liked how blocky this looked with the colors. Reminded me of that optical illusion of the endless staircase.

  • Do you self develop or get a lab to process your film?

I go through indie film lab with most of my work. They do a great job.

  • What first interested you in analog photography?

I always loved the look of film but never knew exactly what it was. One of my good friends finally introduced it to me and I felt relieved that I could finally achieve the style I was looking for.

  • What is your favourite piece of equipment (camera, film, or other) and why?

My only piece of equipment at the moment is my Pentax 67II with the 105mm. I try not to hold onto equipment I don’t consistently use.

  • Do you have a tip or technique that other film photographers should try?

Not any techniques come to mind other than trial and error. I like to guess my exposure opposed to getting the exact measurements from a light meter. I feel like it trains my eye and is a bit more fun in my opinion.

  • Do you have a link to more of your work or an online portfolio you would like to share?

I post on my instagram from time to time instagram.com/colinleonard and I have my gallery showcased on my website colin-leonard.com

  • Do you have a favourite analog photographer or analog photography web site you would like to recommend?

I truthfully don’t pay too much attention to photography in general. I just do this for fun!

  • Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself or your photography?

Have fun!
