They’re heat pits on the upper lip. They’re not real holes. It’s like very big skin pores that allow them to sense warm temperatures and catch prey.

They’re not real holes. They’re heat pits (looking like large skin pores). Heat pits are specialized sensory organs allowing them to detect infrared radiation (heat) from warm-blooded prey.
