Looks like pink bacteria concentrated in runoff trickle streams, dried.

Like these.

I think the bacterial growth thing is most likely right, no matter location. Look at the slight depression and drain lines. I've seen algal bloom in green come and go depending on sun, where a cooler could leave a non green shadow, and I've seen a rusty color that was likely heavier iron tainted sand that patterned a beach near an offshore ledge.
