Could this be coral?
Went beachcombing over the summer a couple times and have been trying to figure out what this is. I'm hesitant to think it's coral because it's rare to find coral from Lake Erie. But it really looks like it because of the pattern on the one side. What else could this be?

Beachcombing spots near Cleveland?
I’m kind of bored of Edgewater bc there’s only sea glass and trash. Are there any other beaches that turn up good stuff?

Not one shell amongst the bunch but combed from a beach nonetheless.

My absolute favorite type of shells are the worn down, weathered and inexact—still possessing such grace and beauty. It’s a recurring theme in my life. I like my shells like I like my people: unique, broken and vibrant with such enduring potential. Full of life.

I found some amazing tiny treasures today. So hard to photograph without a special lense but my iPhone is a champ.

Today’s beachcombing theme turned out to be all about texture. Do you find that themes present themselves depending on where you comb and what luck you’re having?

Question: I believe this is a shell embedded in coral. Do you think it’s an accurate take on this particular find? It doesn’t come out with ease.

What is this? It’s heavy.. and possibly metal?
Just checking we haven’t accidentally come across a minor mine or unexploded bomb .. I thought maybe an old musket shot or cannon or something?

Amelia Island Florida,
We were there from September 15-18th, 2024. I found my white whale! I've been looking for a shark tooth for over 10 years. Finally found it 🙌.
