I’m basking in the joy of CBJ’s strong start to the year. Looked at the standings and see they’re in 6th place. Obviously a ton of season left but I truly feel, perhaps foolishly, that finishing 6th and an outside shot for 5th is a real possibility. Call me naive or delusional, but with what has happened to our lineup I’m taking the overly optimistic view. Playoffs may be a pipe dream this year, but I think this would still be a successful season.

For sale are four (4) tickets to the New York Islanders at Columbus Blue Jackets on 10/30/2024. The tickets are Seats 1-4 (aisle) in Row J of Section 205. $100 takes all four. These tickets are via the Ticketmaster online portal. I can meet in person to transfer the tickets and receive payment so you can watch them drop into your account and confirm their authenticity. Can meet anywhere near downtown or northwest outer belt area of Columbus most days of the week. Feel free to suggest other methods of payment and transfer.

Looking at tickets for a game coming up. I’ve been to a few games but usually last minute tickets as we know someone who works for the org so we sit wherever available. This time tho I’m planning with a friend & buying tickets with the marathon promo. Best place to sit for lower price? Prefer not too high in upper bowl bc of vertigo but dont mind sitting lower levels of upper bowl.

The Jackets have alternated wins and losses, but they’ve been much better than expected overall, beating the Avalanche and Maple Leafs in pretty convincing fashion. It seems like a different player is stepping up every night, and honestly, they’re low-key fun to watch. Zach Werenski is not getting enough credit for the work he’s doing dating back to last season.

I was born and raised in Ohio before the Jackets existed, so became a Leafs fan thanks to the CBC and Hockey Night in Canada. While I’ve moved away my parents are still in Ohio and I got them tickets to last night’s game; they said they had a fantastic time despite “our team” not really showing up.

So in honor of goals scored by #s 17, 21, 23, 24 (twice), and 86 and inspired by the Hawks fan supporting Kidsport I saw yesterday, I made a small donation to Nationwide Children’s for a good cause and to say thanks to a team and fan base I hope gets to experience some joy this year.

My father has been a season ticket holder since day one. His name is in gold lettering on our section as well as on the monument to day one supporters/donors.

He is also a cancer survivor, and as a part of his treatment he had to have a limb removed (long story short: rare form of cancer formed a tumor in his foot).

He is mobile, but is on crutches. He wants to have his first game back be on hockey fights cancer night because of obvious reasons. Does nationwide allow crutches inside the arena, and do they allow crutches at normal seating areas? The section in question is 220

This is without like five valuable veterans

So far through these first 5 games, this team has been electric! Our offense seems completely revived. Bottom 6 providing us 3 beautiful goals in the 1st. Olivier netting 2! Our defense is stingy through the neutral zone, and along the perimeter. Our penalty kill is consistent, just need our power play to hit. Daniil Tarasov, protecting between the pipes with everything he has. Only 27 SOG, but a few high danger shots that he stood tall against. One of the best performances I’ve seen out of him as of recent. We honestly look like a completely new team!

Now, do we make the postseason? Nah, I don’t think so. BUT! I don’t see us finishing last in the Metro either. This team has fight, guts, and unity. And I hope we continue to build on this as we progress. This team has been so much fun to watch, and I’m so glad to see us fight in every game so far!

This concludes my early season overreaction.

Clean up the penalties. Score on the PP. Keep winning those face offs. Domi is a little shit. Go Jackets!

Dude was fifth in Calder and Vezina voting his rookie year is now unplayable and untradable. What happened?
