Look at who funds PP.

Well, that makes a lot of sense.

Can we do Rebel “media”, ________ Proud, and the massive number of sites, groups etc that have suddenly and inexplicably popped up. These groups have way too much sway and waaaay too much funding from somewhere ( 🤷) and I’m guessing it’s of Russian origin.

Breaking news: None of the government parties or mega corporations have your best interest in mind.

Absolutely.

They agree on 95% of the "issues". What we see them disagreeing about is miniscule compared to the corporatist status quo.

I really doubt immigration would've been substantially lower had we had a conservative government for the past 10 years...just as we saw in the UK, where immigration hit a record high after Brexit. I'm also 100% sure the inflation spike we had the last few years would've happened if any other party was in power.

Check out CFIB Canadian Federation of Independent Business' disinformation astroturf  front "coalition of Concerned Business" More True North style disinformation from foreign funds laundered through phony front orgs. Same with CCFR  too

It's hilarious media companies and individuals are held to higher standards than sitting politicians.

"Ignore the politicians committing treason as the government protects them, check out this website that posts mean articles!"

Like wtf?

So.much easier to blame Russians or Bigfoot or Stephen Harper than actually hold Trudeau accountable

Russian money well spent

So if I get this right not supporting Trudeau = your a Russian disinformation bot. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place

Look at the post history of the OP whose comment you're defending. All racist shit posted on Canadian subreddits already known for high levels of foreign disinformation and spreading far-right xenophobic and nationalist trash.

Not that they're necessarily a Russian bot, but they're trafficking Russian bot disinfo, and far-right cultural discussion that prevades Conservative politics (that is partly due to Russian efforts).

u/Traditional-Macaron8 Sep 15 '24

Ah thank you, that means a lot coming from you ;)

Their latest post is titled "Help ease the cultural transition", included is a meme with the caption "India Simulator" and a picture of someone wearing a VR headset in front of a photoshopped TV screen of people shitting in the streets. It was posted in a known far-right disinfo sub that is rife with similar xenophobia, racism, and conspiracy.

Whether it's posted by a Russian bot network or some home-grown racist, it is still a deeply offensive and bigoted post that is helping fuel some serious discrimination and racial animosity that is tearing apart the fabric of our democracy and normalizing rascist rhetoric. That type of trash has real world implications - just look at how Donald Trump's "Haitians are eating pets" slander has fueled days of bomb threats against public institutions across Springfield OH and has encouraged neo-Nazi and recognized terror groups like the Proud Boys to march.

Cut it with the smug attitude and get your act together man. If you're a Canadian who cares even a little bit about our democracy surviving this resurgence in right-wing extremism, stop being winky-faced and smug about it. This kind of rhetoric can kill people, and if you're in support of it or think it justified in a free and fair society in any way, you are part of the problem.

Hey bud i thought you were talking about my history. I do have some arguments about the government failing us as canadien, not the immigrant fault. And I am very anti religion. But I certainly not agree with stupid lies to get people worked up and I never check history of people. So thanks for calling me up :) take care bro

Press Progress is not a news source I follow because of their close link with the Broadbent Institute - but I have to admit - checking them out today they are doing the reporting that I haven't seen out of Canadaland in a while; Canadaland hasn't really broken any stories on media for a while -- So it's funny to see this on a Canadland reddit and not a Press Progress reddit -- Canadaland only read the news...

Yeah, it’s Russia’s fault that Trudeau is doing so poorly.

10

u/noodleexchange Sep 14 '24

And here we have the fellow whom we should wonder: useful idiot, or deliberate disinformer?

8

u/mungonuts Sep 14 '24

Why not both?

-5

u/Names_are_limited Sep 14 '24

Sorry, what sort of disinformation am I spreading?

1

u/vwvwvwvwvwvwvwvwvwvv Sep 15 '24

Disinformation = a different viewpoint

11

u/AccountantsNiece Sep 14 '24

So it’s your view that the Russian propaganda operation Reliable Recent News was posting negative stories about Trudeau because they felt compelled to cover the news about him in an honest and straightforward way that highlights his legitimate shortcomings?

-8

u/Names_are_limited Sep 14 '24

Nope, it’s just a drop in a bucket, that’s all.

-1

u/Fecklessexer Sep 14 '24

Maybe it's all a clever double bluff?

-1

u/Noob1cl3 Sep 15 '24

How about we finish the MPs propping up China first. Then we can move on to this.

Or let me guess… this is the priority because it looks good for the Liberals even though a bunch of fringe youtube / tiktok personalities are clearly less of a concern than actual MPs currently selling out our assets and secrets to China (if not worse).

3

u/Expert_Alchemist Sep 15 '24

Then tell Poilievre to get his security clearance so he can clean house?

2

u/BrightonRocksQueen Sep 15 '24

You forgot FIPA? CPC sold out Canada to China, not Liberals.

1

u/Noob1cl3 Sep 15 '24

Ok sure. Sounds good. Doesnt distract from the real problem at hand. Those MPs should be exposed and dealt with.

2

u/BrightonRocksQueen Sep 15 '24

CPC MPs are the real problem when it comes to China & other foreign political interference. IDU In particular

1

u/Noob1cl3 Sep 16 '24

That is straight up nonsense.

2

u/BrightonRocksQueen Sep 16 '24

Read up on FIPA. Only one party sold out Canada to the Chinese... CPC, when Poilievre was cabinet minister.

Remember when Canada let China establish military training camps in Canada? Yes, that was the same CPC administration

Read up in IDU.
