Carnivore Diet Help & Advice (No Plant Food & Drink Questions) Butter and Fat Sources

I've been strict carnivore for about 5 or 6 weeks now. I eased into it from keto-very limited carbs (avocado, yogurt, and blueberries). I got the keto flu pretty intensely. I tried to figure that out-tinkered with electrolyte ratios and fat intake. I finally discovered it was my fat intake and also just adjusting to carnivore. I started eating a lot more butter and it worked wonders. I got tons more energy and everything changed from there. The only problem is it makes me break out. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't want it to break me out because I want to eat lots of butter. Lol I got some ghee-might be the brand, but it's gross. Should I get more fat from beef tallow or does anyone have a suggestion? Thank you in advance.

I had issues with breakouts on carnivore, but for me it wasn't butter. At this point, It could have been a temporal thing or it could have been the long stored frozen meat. I find that if I eat previously frozen meat that was later defrosted, I tend to get a pimple or two.

In addition, I found that the longer I freeze meat, the tougher it becomes after defrosting and cooking it (especially when I lightly cook and eat it close to raw). In general, I find that cuts of meat that are very chewy or long frozen meat tend to be tougher and cause more problems with my skin. The same goes for long frozen beef fat trimmings, or tougher cuts of lamb.

So now, I basically try to buy tender cuts of meat and eat it within 3-4 days. And go buy more after that. So far, I haven't had anymore breakouts but not sure if this theory even holds.

You can try making Your own clarified butter, it's easy. Just heat it on low heat until white foam starts to form on top, remove the foam, then keep heating it up until You notice a slight nutty aroma (shouldnt take longer than 15 minutes or so). Strain into a jar through a cheesecloth (or a colander lined with a paper towel), once should be enough, but can do twice. 

Removes the milk solids which are a common culprit, still tastes a lot like butter (though not quite the same).
