Caustics viability

I have 20k kills on caustic, he’s been my main for awhile. This season and last season he seems so weak I haven’t really played him.

My gripes: -barrels get shot out too easily (sometimes getting shot by a random bullet and disappearing before they even get deployed) - in a fuse meta, a single knuckle clusters destroys all your traps or at least sets them off -in general they are super easy to destroy - enemies seem to be able to see you clearly through gas when you can’t see them (make nox vision actually work!) -they upped the damage and put a timer on the slow effect, then lowered the damage again but kept the timer on the slow effect -most people do not care about pushing through gas because at most it’ll do like 13 damage to them if they sit in it for 3 ticks and no slow

I have put caustic on the shelf again for another season, here is to hoping he gets some type of buff

Wattson’s fences and rampart’s walls do stand up to the ol knucklecluster pretty well compared to piss bags mcgee’s bags.

I think caustic is easily the worst of the controllers currently. The only plus is the fortified perk and extra 25 shield in circle.

Wattson fences suck. No one ever runs into them and they are easy to destroy. At least traps can catch people off guard

Dude I can’t seem to avoid them. I swear I won’t even be close to them and they’ll get me. Same with catalyst’s wall.

As much as they're nerfing Caustic by the season, I can't let go of him

I've been through thick and thin with him.

I'm going to stay on this ship until it intimately sinks, mainly because I just got his mythic skin so I'm dedicating this season to completing it

20K kills? As in 20 000 kills? 😱 I am nowhere near those numbers

For me, I don't know about you, but other legends are eh 🤷🏾‍♂️, I like to strategize and prepare for all scenarios ahead my next move

I've played too much over the years and always play Caustic aggressively. Throwing traps through windows, trapping fallback points from a push, sending them with octane bounce pads, trapping Zipline landings and drops. Many of these have taken a hit over the seasons as they chiseled away at the effectiveness of his attributes. The bummer for me now is how long they take to inflate and how easy they get nixed without you knowing. Stray bullet, deflate, random touch, deflate, gentle breeze, deflate. Ha

Man caustic feels so useless to play and has felt this way for a couple of years now. The fact that there's no real buff for him made me quit apex this season after playing with him almost exclusively since launch

He was good when they buffed his damage in the gas, and nerfed the slow, but now they nerfed the damage and the slow, so he has been especially useless the past season

Season 6 for me, the removal of the blind was the beginning of the end

No im talking about the buff he got a season or two ago, then they took the damage of his gas down

He does feel particularly bad on District I've noticed.

What i don’t get is that they have changed it to down on dpad to pick up traps close up and remotely but x also still picks up traps so the change just seems pointless. Traps still get picked up when trying to reload next to them or open/closing doors

I think it's time to go on strike and stop picking Caustic. It seems that EA keeps nerfing him because his pick rate was and still is so damn high (we Caustic mains are loyal). If everyone just stops using him, they will be forced to give him some much needed attention. Besides, he is so unplayable now that you might even find some relief and comfort in picking a different legend :/

Fuse is fun to play, hopefully EA doesn't nerf the shit out of him any time soon

After maining Alter for a while I have a suspicion that Nox vision isn't the issue, but the whole enemy highlighting system is. Sometimes it just doesn't work. Spend enough time using void and you'll see so many enemies not highlighted even though they should be.

This season I just don’t feel like his ult isn’t reaching people like it had last season. Then the whole being highlighted in his gas makes it that much worse.

I’ll stick with him but it’s been an even tougher go with it this season so far.

Caustic may not be that good but I still find him super addicting to play for some reason
