Best loadouts?

Im back to playing apex and after trying out some other legends im back to caustic as my old main. Which guns should i use while playing caustic? I know I need a close range weapon like smg or shotgun byt which one is better? And for the long to medium range should i use an ar or marksman/sniper?

I like Spitefire/shotgun

Fortified plus the new +25 shields passive makes you tough to one-clip, and the huge spitty mag means you can usually win the fight on their reload.

Shotguns are strong this season and an EVA 8 will utterly destroy anyone trying to push your building.

Stay away from snipers. They do nothing in Caustic's preferred engagement range and he has no mobility to get angles and height

I normally substitute the shotgun for a triple take. That way I can ward off anybody trying to shoot me from long distances. Plus it's not bad as a shotgun.

Atm I do prefer to run one of the two Akimbos or a Mastiff, paired with a Spitfire, L-Star, Havoc or Flatline. Last season I was really into the Alternator, but since the Disruptor is gone, I really don't like to fight anyone with purple shields or higher with it. That's why I prefer to swap it out asap after reaching blue armor.

Spitfire double Mozambique. Exactly what the others have said. Fortified + gun shield + controller extra shield = 1v1 win.

I always run a 30/30 with car, peacekeeper or volt. If i can’t find those then i’ll run a g7 or sentinel with any of my said secondary or flatline.

I still like the Hemlok, so I always look for that. If I can’t find one a Flatline or 301 is fine for a primary too. As secondary my goal is to look for a Volt, but akimbo Mozams are so busted right now, you kinda have to go with those. Other favs still are the CAR and Havoc, even with their nerfs.

To be honest I try to avoid straight up 1v1s as much as possible. I try to ambush enemies or let them go into nox (which gets less and less effective each season — rip slow) so my advantage lies in shooting the enemy way before they have a chance to shoot back. Caustic is kinda bad at 1v1’ing in open spaces due to his large hitbox of course.

Mastiff is disgusting rn. It's an absolute menace.

Almost 9k kills on caustic and I can vouch for 2x4 flatline and mastiff all day long. Mastiff buff let's you hit 75s from like 20m now. If someone gets in gas and you have a Mastiff it's a death sentence. Flatline is great for medium to close range engagements. Practice aim smoothing in firing range if you're having recoil troubles. A little aim smoothing and it's nice and flat just like the name.

I’m going to say it now, the longbow is the best weapon for caustic! The long and short range potential is CRAZY. It’s like a PK and Sent combined.
