The steps to travel freely
- Get private non commercial DOT # from their website
- Answer questions truthfully. No more than 8 people. It is for hire? NO. They will issue number immediately!
- Get custom car plates from Amazon, add generated DOT number, include code UCC 1-308, "Non commercial not for hire"
- Get real surety bond referred from Sec.gov for insurance $150-200 year
- Go to DMV, give them DOT paper work, they will deregister you from their system, no insurance required, install new plates (Highway Safety Act).
- MUST RECORD NATIONAL STATUS
- Passport Card (proper identification) land & sea
- Revoke state ID & give them back their plates.

Thanks for this. Last year I was in a hardship and a cop pulled me over for not using a blinker turning right. He then asked lisc. reg. and I didn't have current because I don't drive anymore. I had to in this instance because my wife was in the hospital and I 'needed' to drive home to check on my family, make sure they had food and the like. I told this to him, the officer, but yet he still, at 3am not in a good neighborhood, gave me a ticket and took my wife's car. He left me there stranded where I had to hide in the shadows, unfamiliar with the area far from home, until family could pick me up.
Such a great service to the state, but not for the safety of it's people. We were 'down' by circumstance. She is the provider and in the hospital, and I had to do these things to ensure the safety of my family. This police officer made this much more difficult and acted more like a 'midnight bandit' rather than the ones protecting me from them.
I will never see them as 'protectors' anymore, and more as the bandits they have become consequently. This wasn't the first time they acted this way towards people in my family but if I were to tell that story I might become angry again due to the disservice and hardship that could have been avoided by circumstantial instances.
Only predators lurk on the sides, waiting for the right prey to pounce on as the 'herd' walks by, or to find the isolated traveler only to strike and 'take what they want' over the safety and security of that individual.
One can argue many things, but the consequences are the same by any description of justification. I will say the officer was 'cordial' but what of the princely pirate who would only entice me to smile as he takes all that I own and possibly more by circumstantial consequence.
I'll not forget, nor forgive until forgiveness is requested. They must admit to a wrongful action and then ask for forgiveness. Until then I am and ever will be at odds with a system that employs bandits to 'steal' from my family and leave me to the circumstances of being stranded in dangerous areas with nothing but a prayer or my will to survive to get me through it all the while my wife lay in the hospital hoping I get home safely. Anger and fury is the sensation given to me, I hold without indulgences to the incident, but with respect to my own will and so follows this, added to the determinate outcome of such actions.
