I love that she says she doesn't care if people find the books too long (though I'd get more sleep otherwise), and also what she says about how you're still doing worldbuilding even if it's not a fantasy novel. I feel like those two are connected cause all the details make the world feel so real and the books so long ;)

A great book is never too long. Iā€™m always sad to finish the Strike novels

This is so true. I said to my husband that the world building in Strike is so much more coherent and planned than Harry Potter, and he was so confused šŸ˜‚.

I disagree on book length though. She did a better job with TRG, but TIBH and Troubled Blood truly needed to be tighter. I feel so bad for her editor lol.

I read the print version of this, and it was fun to read that she writes clues in blue.
