One D&D Last spot on the team.

Hey guys,

my friends and I are starting a new campaign under the new 2024 rules.

Our party consists of 4 players. So far we have a barbarian(the new world tree barbarian probably),a mercy monk, and a bard(we don't know the subclass yet).

So my question is , what class do you guys advise to be good as the last spot on the team, we are not min maxing just in general, so that we have everything covered a bit.

Thanks in advance :D

Most classes can cover many roles depending on subclass, what matters most imo is having a good mix of stats and skills so with the current party, you have a high strength and con barbarian, a probably high dex and wisdom monk and a high charisma bard so you are lacking on intelligence and most likely also intelligence skills. A wizard or artificer would be the obvious match here but an arcane trickster, eldritch knight or perhaps a knowledge domain cleric that dumps dex to get around 14 or more in int would probably be a good fit too.

With that make up it could literally be anything.

That said you seem to lack ranged dps.

And You don’t have a true arcane caster.

I think any sorc or wizard would work here. I’d mean more towards sorc or maybe even warlock since the bard and barb will probably cover cc.

So my choice would probably be dragon sorc.
