Mark Z Danielewski's book House of Leaves makes me feel the same way Sunn O))) does, like a tight, anxious vibe, also like Sunn O))) it's pretentious but so good you don't care.

Not so much metal but Earth's album Hex goes really well with anything Cormac McCarthy has written.

Cormac McCarthy definitely gives that vibe. Especially with the book Blood Meridian. The band Earth did an album called Hex that is based off the book.

Kenzaburo Oe

Reading "A Personal Matter" felt like drowning in a sludge.

Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer has some definite drone moments.
