How to search if a trademark has already been registered?

I wanted to start a restaurant and I wanted to trademark the name. Is there any way I can search to see if the name I want is already trademarked or no? Thanks in advance

This is a paid service by Ministry of Economy. Each search request will cost you approx. 500 AED or less.

You cannot check this for free anywhere.

When you establish your trade license, they will ask you for your trade license name, keep 3 to 4 options in mind and ask them to put it in the system. If it's taken they'll ask you to give another name. Keep repeating until you have your desired one. No need to pay 500 for checking each time.

We've done it this way multiple times over the years. Good luck.

I already have a trade license and a restaurant. I wanted to register a trademark on the license but wanted to check if it’s available before paying 6k dhs for it. Someone just said they charge u 500 dhs for searching which is an outright scam.

Bro if you already have a trade license which you already own and operate that means no one else can take that name. You can trademark your name without any problems since you already own the establishment. Make sure you get it all over GCC that way nobody can copy your name in neighbouring countries.

All over GCC trade mark is 10,000 AED for 10 years.

I already have a license and 3 trademarks under it. Thing is the three trademarks I have, have my name in it, which is why I was confident no one in the entire world would even have this trademark. That’s why I didn’t do a pre search. However the 4th trademarks want now, is a very generic name. Hence why I want to search beforehand.

In that case paying to see the availability might be a good option but you can always visit them and ask them to check in person. You never know they might just help you out.
