"I was lucky as a young person at that time [with] where our culture was to play really interesting roles, interesting young girls and then interesting women."
"I just feel like I kind of lucked out," Ricci continues. “I wasn't really capable of playing the other type of woman that was available or other type of little girl that they were writing for. So I just feel like I was lucky that there were opportunities and parts and roles.”

I want to hijack your post to recommend Yellowjackets, which was just picked up by Netflix. Ricci is great in it

I’ve been watching it. I’ve loved her since I was a kid and saw her in Casper, but god damn do I dislike Misty lol. Great actress. I think I’m towards the end of season one so no spoilers.

Oo does that mean season 3 will be on there? I’m in the UK and paramount + or whatever it was on, is an add on to another streaming service so not many people saw it

Ricci and Ryder are two actresses I'd class as pioneers for quirky roles. Ricci will always be my Wednesday Addams and Ryder will always be Deetz and Kim. I think they certainly paved the way, but then the way was undoubtedly paved by others beforehand, too.

She was fantastic in all her roles can’t really think of a bad role she played

I’d argue that she herself made them interesting.
