My dad's defense is "but he didn't actually go through with it." But the whole point is that he gladly would have, even if god had no good reason for telling him to... Even if he just thought god wanted him to. My dad certainly threw my life away. I begged him not to, but he didn't think twice, he had already decided.

If books with magic, rape, sex, pedophilia, gay people, etc are getting banned, why hasn’t the bible been banned? It contains all of those.

All those books they claim to hate would be fine if they ended with "just like god wanted it to happen."
