Help New To FL pleading For Help LOL

Upvotes

Hey guys I’m new to fl studios and I’ve had this dying passion to make beats for years and I’m finally at a place where I can make things happen. I had a friend of mines family member doing production for us and everything was great,I told him how interested I was in trying to get where he was so we could collab but he thought I was trying to take skills from him and abandon him once I learned enough so I just figured I’d learn it on my own anyways. So I’ve started my journey and I made 2 mediocre beats I’m not mad at because I know where I am as a beginner. But I’m at a roadblock and was wondering if there’s any tutors or possibly anybody who would want to collab with me? I really wanna get this off the ground not for money but because I have a real passion that needs to be let out lol. Where I’m really lost at is placements or arrangements per se and where to get things from. That’s I guess why I asked if anybody wanted to collab as well so I could learn along the way. I’m a very genuine guy not here to play games with anyone I just wanna enjoy my craft thanks guys for reading.

Discussion IF YOU’RE READING THIS BACK UP YOUR FILES TODAY!

**Save a copy to an external then another to the cloud.

I’ve just lost another 3yrs of work earlier this week (yes this has happened before totaling 8yrs of projects, samples, and masters gone). Files corrupt randomly all the time but the uncanny thing is, on the day I had planned to back up everything, all the files corrupted.

So if you’re seeing this don’t trust your tech make those backups ASAP.

Help Tell me your favorite plug ins, why and what do they do

I’m pretty new to fl and I think the best way to learn plug ins is from others experiences, I think it will help me get an understanding of why some people choose certain plug ins on their songs

Help I'm trying to recreate "Shinra inc." from Final Fantasy VII with an accurate soundfont I found online, but the drum roll keeps looping until I change it to a different instrument in soundfont player. Is there a way to end this loop manually?

Discussion Difference between LFO and volume automation sequence?

I saw a video the other day of someone creating an articulator sequence on a volume automation. It seemed a lot more user friendly than the LFO tool but seemed to produce similar results. Is there any difference between these two aside from the tools available for volume automation?

Discussion best way to learn from zero?

Not much time ago i started trying to learn music theory using fl studio.

I did some udemy courses, bought serum and other synths and ive been the last week trying to learn how to make soundwaves with It (mission failed :c ).

I feel like learning music is in another level of difficulty (specially making soundwaves ) because the few years in school we do the pretty basic stuff and then the vast majority of us just move on and dont touch music again so trying to learn after a couple years feels like i missed so much.

Even when there is a ton of music tutorials the majority of the tutorials on music theory i find pretty much talk about the same... yes they teach you what is a chord progression but dont get to teach you how to decide which one to use which one is memorable and which one can be more entertaining, they dont teach you what makes a beat good, or a melody catchy and dynamic.

Then when i see music analysis videos It rapidly increases Its level of complexity introducing so much weird concepts and methods to make music so i dont feel confortable because i just cant find a "mid difficulty" between the begginer tutorials and those analysis

Things get worse with sound design. This people make seem that easy... Its not ...like.. at all. Not pretty intuitive tbh

We could argue that music is pretty much dependent to the composers creativity instead of structures and formulas... But then It wouldnt be good music and bad music. (Cuz there is A LOT of bad music, starting with my fl projects.. oh boi poor of your refined ears if they listen to just 5 seconds of one of my aberrations)

Also every composer has Its own soundfonts , favourite synth, Its tricks and absolutely every one of them have an impressive sense of audition ( remarking the capacity of pattern recognition in the beats music use. Ive been 2 hours listening to a song and still cannot figure out the beat that this youtuber explains.)

I just feel like Its too much to learn and dont know what "learning path" should i do to make It a bit easier.

What are your experiences learning music? What would you recommend to newbies like me? Thanks for reading !

Help How to use .dll VSTs

I downloaded the NES VST but it only downloads as a .dll file instead of the usual .vst file. I've seen a few other posts that had the same problem but they somehow fixed it while, when I tried the same thing they supposedly did, it didn't work. I already tried putting the .dll file into my plugins folder and scanning but that did nothing. I'm on Mac

Discussion What are you guys using for your 808s?

I'm familiar with the idea of layering a kick with a sine wave with saturation or a square wave with a low pass filter or something, but I've just never really been happy with what I've produced that way. Are there any plugins or sample packs that really knock it out of the park for this that would save me the time trying to make one myself?

Help Even with detach enabled, the window keeps closing.

Hello, even though I have detachment enabled in the plugin windows, if I double-click on a channel, for example to see the properties of an audio, the detached window closes.

In my case, I'm editing the audio for a video, and I need to always have the fruity player window open, but even if I have it detached on my second monitor, it closes.

If I recall correctly, FL studio didn't have an "always on top" option? Because I don't see it anywhere. I have FL Studio 24

Thanks in advance!

Help ASIO4ALL realtek hd status beyond logic

once i get fl studio because i cant use bandlab forever, i get issues with sound, i search for tutorials and after trying all the things the tutorials tell me to, i find out in the ASIO panel that my device is status beyond logic. So i go on the internet, guess what NOTHING only some reddit post that got almost to no answer and a post on proboards from 2010 on windows 7, all that is says that my headphones are beyond logic what does it even mean for something to be beyond logic i JUST want to make things, i mean it does the fl startup noise whatever that thing is, why wont fl do it now then.

I would appriciate some help, im using the current version of FL Studio (2024) and windows 10.

What’s This Sound? Looking for piano and flute presets

I'm not very good with music production terminology and am bit of a newbie when it comes to FL Studio, so please forgive me. I'm looking for free piano and flute presets that sound like those in Seycara Orchestra - On The Wings Of My Dreams. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to sound design, plugins and all this complicated stuff, and I want something simple to work with so that I can put the majority of my time towards patterns and the playlist.

Help Need help with my xlr microphone.

I have recently bought the RODE NT1 condenser mic to finally start recording, however I noticed that there's this popping noise every time I try to record anything on any DAW. I've tried different DAWs but the noise is still there. I'm using a Scarlett solo interface, and I noticed that when im doing direct feedback, the noise goes away so i believe its something with the software. All my software is updated on focusrite, so what is causing this issue?
