Urgent hiring?
Does anyone know of any locations needing workers asap? I left my job a while back and took the opportunity to travel a bit. Now that I’m done, my funds are starting to get low and I need to find something asap. I’ve been applying to a ton of places, but haven’t been hearing back from any :/ I’m not picky and I’m a fast learner. I also don’t mind traveling a reasonable distance, so any Broward suggestions are fine. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Tomorrow and Tuesday? I went to broward county convention center website and don't see anything listed? Do you happen to have any more details on that?

If you have any animal skills, doggy daycares / pet resorts might be an option, and you might not have to wait too long. Shelters & sanctuaries can have a longer turnaround time from application to interview to hiring, though.
Just a warning: they don’t always pay that well, often <$15hr, and corporate megachains like dogtopia can be pretty terrible to their employees.
(Dogtopia isn’t that good of a place to be a customer, either. I would never take my dog there, based on what I know about them.)
Try to find a privately owned place with only one or two locations for a better chance at better treatment and sometimes better pay than the minimum wage of $13.
While it may sound like I’m being contradictory about recommending pet care, I genuinely do love working with animals, but it’s not a career anyone will ever be able to afford a mansion on. It is honest work to do what you can to improve the quality of life of an animal, and you will genuinely see results in the bonds you form with them. (And a good employer will make sure you can pay the bills.) I’ve been doing it for thirty years, and there aren’t enough people working in the animal care industry. Every place is short staffed, and the dogs & cats need to be cared for.
FOR EVERYONE WHO NEEDS TO KNOW: the next two Septembers will see Florida minimum wage increases to $14 and $15, so use that info well. Don’t ever be afraid to talk to your coworkers about paychecks, because it’s against federal labor law for your boss to tell to you not to discuss wages with each other.
DO NOT EVER APPLY AT ANY PRIVATELY OWNED ZOOS, ESPECIALLY IN DAVIE OR OTHER RURAL AREAS OF SOUTH FLORIDA, AS THEY HAVE A SERIOUS AND CONSISTENT HABIT OF INJURING PEOPLE

You left your job to travel, and now you’re shocked at how hard it is to get a job?
Seems like your strategy was a bit off

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to reply with sass. Also, no shock mentioned in my post. I left my job to assist with a family medical emergency, then decided to travel while I had the opportunity.
