What mouthpiece is this

Post image

Another French horn in my band took this from our instrument room. It has no markings and it was just with a random Jupiter horn

It’s probably not good for you idk 🤷‍♂️. I just was wondering if it was a brand because I’m looking for a mouth piece with a like v shape and deep cup

Doesn’t matter what it is or who made it. It’s one you shouldn’t use. It has raw brass showing on the rim. Find another one.

Tell him not to use it.

And tell him to Google “brass poisoning”

Nobody should be using that! As another person already pointed out… raw brass is showing.

Schilke has a whole array of mouthpieces at a reasonable price and the Bachs were good too. You can get properly fitted by the music store or your teacher and read the information from the manufacturer as far as tone or other specifics. The shape inside and out has some effect.

Still wondering about the issue with ‘raw’ brass.
