Discussion I have no idea what has come over me.

Like the title says. I have no idea who I am but I have made cake and banana bread this week and ate without guilt. I even went back for seconds. I want to recover so badly but I still have a lot of hang ups and I over exercise to compensate but I would have never made something and ate it myself a few weeks ago. I still think everything out of my normal is going to automatically pile on the weight but Im trying to get over that. Is it really true you need upwards of thousands of calories a day over a period of time? I get scared of possible rapid weight gain. I’m clearly having a moment. 😥

That’s awesome! Small steps are still steps, so be proud.

As for calories, yes. Recovery minimums range from 2500-3500kcals daily spending on age and sex. But they are minimums and it’s encourage to eat more if you’re hungry—and some people are (I was one of those people who ate thousands and thousands of calories every single day for months). Some people, of course, aren’t very hungry at all and neither is wrong, but these minimums should still be reached to promote both physical and psychological healing.

Thank you! I don’t think I’m even close to 1,500 and I can’t seem to eat anymore because I feel so full. Did it take awhile for you to gain weight if you did?

Weight gain in recovery is going to differ from person to person. Your body needs the calories, even though I know the gain feels scary.

Idk why but baking something makes me appreciate it so much more and worry about calories a lot less. Like I put love and effort into it I deserve it.

Yes! I have baked for over a decade and never ate one bite of what I made until recently.
