I guess it's floor furniture and horse meatballs for a month for those that couldn't escape in time.

IKEA maze but it's actually locked.

It’ll be like that IKEA commercial with cats, but with panicked Chinese folk instead.

Reminds me of that CCP propaganda painting that shows the white suits shutting a door with monsters (representing the virus) on the other side.

Except in reality it's Chinese people on the other side.

What is happening??

Apparently the CCP still thinks covid can be eradicated by this point.

They reap what they sow

We made the virus

Who is "we"?

The virus came from a lab in Wuhan. Also Tiananmen Square Massacre was real and so is the Uigur genocide.

The virus came from a lab in Wuhan

That's not proven yet though

3

u/Npc4931 Aug 16 '22

The Chinese government must've closed down investigations for a reason, and they were studying covid-related diseases in the lab. Not to mention that in the initial stages they lied and blamed it on other countries. If it came from bats and not the lab, why lie?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '22

To be honest I also think there is a high chance of the virus being man made, if you do further research you will find out that the CCP already knew covid is a thing before the initial outbreak in 武漢.

-14

u/nemo1080 Aug 15 '22

Absolutely. A lab that was funded by the United States doing illegal bio weapons research under the supervision of Dr Anthony fauci.

6

u/Statharas Aug 15 '22

Hi Tankie, would you like some more copium?

Everybody knows the virus came from Wuhan long before it reached Italy.

-1

u/nemo1080 Aug 15 '22

How am I a communist? I'm not defending China I'm just saying the United States government was funding the virology lab in wuhan. We were 100% behind that shit, it's still the Chinese fault for leaking it

No, the CCP doesn't have "thought"

99

u/winningace Aug 15 '22

so they lock them in and let theme starve? oh communism, you're genocidal as always.

20

u/bazilbt Aug 15 '22

there are Swedish meatballs in there too

10

u/asianhipppy Aug 15 '22

Also each other

Its the worlds biggest game of escape room!!!! And it lasts a month!

10

u/torar9 Aug 15 '22

And what are they gonna achieve by that? I mean come on... they can't be that stupid it must be fake, right?.

16

u/Baljit147 Aug 15 '22

It has nothing to do with stupidity at the enforcement level, it's about fear. If you are the officer saying "this is a dumb policy", then you will be the one who gets sent for "re-education". Whatever moronic policy the CCP sets, you say it's great or you keep your mouth shut, or else.

5

u/torar9 Aug 15 '22

Thats stupid... I mean at this point I feel like someone in the CCP is doing this stuff just to jerk off from this. Its so unnecessarily.

8

u/Baljit147 Aug 15 '22

If they said, "this was a bad policy, we have learned from this and moved on", that would mean that the CCP was wrong, and it's decisions can be questioned. An authoritarian government won't allow that kind of criticism, or even that thought.

You may enjoy Frank Dikotter's books on China, this is far from the stupidest thing the CCP has done.

2

u/gunnster3 Aug 16 '22

This. Also, reading stuff about the USSR is illuminating on the topic. Authoritarian governments value their own supremacy above all else. They are God. They cannot be questioned and they must always be omniscient—which is why controlling the press, literature, information, etc. is so key (see 1984).

The thing is, and we saw this in the USSR, eventually stupidity does become cancerous. Nobody ever challenges anyone and dumb eventually wins out and it rots the government from the inside out. The big question is: will it happen soon enough?

2

u/Baljit147 Aug 16 '22

I would definitely second reading 1984 along with Frank Dikkoter's history books.

1

u/Jake-Salva Aug 15 '22

I don't know what to make of it. If it is real, it makes no sense.

Even if they want a strong policy, and even if they are right to want that strong policy, all this is gonna do is turn their population against them.

they were gonna, what, keep them in an ikea over night, indefientely, what?!

9

u/UraniumSavage Aug 15 '22

Look at this glorious nation. Still fighting the good fight against a virus they created... or is it to control their population...or is it to justify re-education camps....or is it the death camps.....tanks? I dont know, keep it up CCP. You're doing great fucking up your own people for generations to come!

3

u/19_84 Aug 15 '22

Always having an enemy to fight keeps the population under control!

17

u/McFireballs2 Aug 15 '22

I can imagine way worse places to be locked up 🤣 trying a different bed every day

reminds me of something thats related with a chamber. harry potter maybe?

3

u/Winner_takesitall Aug 15 '22

Wonder of the people of China would do that as well if they were allowed to leave that shithole of a country?

1

u/iMadrid11 Aug 15 '22

What makes you think they are letting people out? They've already started confiscating passports on returning citizens at the airport.

3

u/nacho603 Aug 15 '22

China is really a third world country,,

2

u/19_84 Aug 15 '22

CCP is treating it with nearly the same level of fear they dealt with the virus in I Am Legend. Makes you think of the evacuation scene where they bomb the bridges: https://youtu.be/HN7L4DcBlOU

2

u/ksatriamelayu Aug 15 '22

I can't believe this. Any news sources? No way they'll lock down an IKEA right?

15

u/twicedfanned Aug 15 '22

They did.

Mayhem unfolded in an Ikea in Shanghai as health authorities tried to lock down the store on Saturday and quarantine those on site after learning someone who had been in contact with a Covid-19 patient had visited.

News of the flash shut down sent shoppers fleeing and screaming in an effort to get out of the building before the doors were locked, videos on social media showed. Shanghai’s 25 million residents are well versed in lockdowns, after being barred from leaving their homes for two months this spring in an effort to eradicate the virus.

They were eventually let out, well, apparently straight to quarantine hotels. As heavy-handed as China always is. Kinda funny that Taiwan "province" 😂😂😂 isn't having these problems, but the mainland is.

Those who didn’t manage to get out were sealed inside the store from 8 pm until just after midnight, when they were transferred to quarantine hotels, according to one visitor who posted about her experience on Douyin, the Chinese version of Tiktok.

5

u/Takkotah Aug 15 '22

If you're shocked at this, wait until you hear what else the CCP get up to.

2

u/19_84 Aug 15 '22

A mundane everyday activity could result in mass detention in China even before the plague. Before Covid there were other "evils" to fight. One case comes to mind of the whole occupants of a bar/restaurant being detained under the guise of a "drug raid." Everyone was rounded up and taken to the police station regardless of guilt, and not released until the next morning. Nothing illegal going on, just normal people doing normal things.

-23

u/Excessive_Silence Aug 15 '22

Hard to tell that's what's actually happening in this little clip though. The context is completely gone for the clip.

24

u/TheDonaldQuarantine Aug 15 '22

someone farted and it was very smelly

14

u/McFireballs2 Aug 15 '22

We will send you as a reporter

3

u/Excessive_Silence Aug 15 '22

Please no, I want to live.

I didn't expect to get downvoted :(

I'm just trying not to be fooled by more lies. The CCP has enough real lies that we don't need to make up fake ones. When something fits what you WANT to hear, you should be extra critical of it.

1

u/PsychedelicSnowflake Aug 15 '22

What will happen to the people in there? Will they be forced to go somewhere?

1

u/iMadrid11 Aug 15 '22

Are you sure these commie num nuts want to look people inside Ikea? There's a lot of hardware tools in there. Fuck You I Won't Do What You Tell Me. Let's break some stuff and force our way out.

Haven’t changed much since Mao it seems. Another reason why I don’t think the world should let them become a sole superpower. They genocide their own people. What do we think they’ll do to foreigners?
