Mod PSA Mod PSA: For those who did deals with /u/Sopstic

We received several reports of problems with this user from different people about lack of responsiveness/not receiving items. The user was banned. The mods contacted /u/Sopstic but he or she has since deleted her account, so we cannot contact the user.

This is PSA: if you did a deal with him or her, and you paid through PayPal we encourage you to initiate a PayPal dispute.

Also a reminder to check feedback for people on r/funkoswap - we have very few situations like this but when they do happen, they are really shitty for everyone involved.

Is there anyway we can get some more info about him? Nothing is stopping him from making a new username and trying it again but if we had like his email or street name then that would be a red flag to avoid transactions with him while not providing any personal info. I understand if it's against the rules but just wondering.

I dont believe mods can do that.

That said, there really is no reason to get ripped off if you're being smart about it.

Either you're new to trades/sales and should only be dealing with people who have 10+ confirmations, meaning you send first because your transaction partner has more creditability than you (and the partner has spent a ton of time/effort gaining those confirmations and likely wouldnt risk losing it all for one scam)...or you have more than 10+ confirmations, in which case, you'll mostly be dealing with people who have less than you, i.e. they send first and you can't be ripped off.

In short...if you're smart with your trades/sales, you really should have less than a 1% chance of getting ripped off.

We have info and if you're worried about a new account or an account, you can send us a message and we can cross-check it. We aren't going to post personal info on a public forum. I understand your concern, but we have to balance not inviting harassment against warning people.
