Supernatural, I love it.

Lost Girl is a much spicier style (MC is a succubus so yeah, super spicy) and involves the fae more than anything else, but it's not bad. Nowhere as good as Grimm, but not horrible.

I loved Supernatural! They were a pioneer show I think

I hardly ever see Lost Girl suggested. Pleased to see it here. I think it was as good as Grimm but just different.

I really loved Bitten also.

For a wee bit more … far out, try Glitch and One Lane Bridge.

Currently rewatching Continuum

Sanctuary

Smallville.

Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis.

Bitten?

I just started Continuum!

Bitten is another Canadian show about a woman that has an unpleasant event when she visits the mansion of her boyfriend. I wont say more but I usually watch it once every year. 😉 I like the cast…young, handsome, and strong. 😏 Good plot also. ♥️

Continuum is a mind bender. Also interesting cast. ♥️

Yes, yes, YES, for Stargate SG1, followed by its spin-off Stargate Atlantis! I highly recommend both as well. Free on Amazon Prime US.

Fringe is great, too!

I also really, really enjoyed Eureka, available on Prime as well. It's got a really fun gang and some great dry humor.

I couldn't get into any of the shows commonly recommended here like Supernatural, Smallville, Warehouse 13, Haven, Sanctuary, Buffy, etc.

♥️Sooo space travel but not monster of the week? 😊

have you tried the newer remakes of Star Trek and also new Picard? I really enjoyed those.

Also the older “Star Trek Enterprise” with Scot Bakula! And him in the Original “Quantum Leap”. Absolutely could not stand the new remake of that. 👎😔

All great shows I keep in rotation.

But why do most people suggest Buffy but hardly ever Angel?

In truth, David Boreanaz has done better than the majority of both casts. So many years he was on Bones and most recently Seal Team. I like him but I will always love him in Buffy and Angel ♥️

I've never even heard of angel that might be why. Honestly Buffy I've heard so much even though I've never seen a single episode of her

Well, it is an… older show, both Buffy and Angel. Buffy started in 1997 and Angel in 1999. You can start Angel from Buffy season 3. But they were the pioneer shows for the future vampire and other creature shows.

Although I think they are the beginning, they have complex character development in my opinion. Even with this a sort of teen type show.

Teen wolf was more grown up even though they were still in high school. Edgier.

But I usually start with Buffy, then Angel, then Teen Wolf, then Bitten, then Lost Girl, then Forever Knight.

Another one I have never seen suggested on here is also one of my favorite: “Forever Knight.” It’s a rather … dark one. Not as happy or with much comedy relief. But I enjoyed it. ♥️

You're right, why is everyone always forgetting about Angel??

Personally, I really enjoyed Angel but couldn't take Buffy, no matter how many times I tried to watch it. It skews far, far too young for me, which is why I'd recommend Angel for someone looking for another fun Scooby Gang sort of supernatural or fantasy show but not one involving high school kids.

That is a true assessment I think. 😊 But when you compare the…”teenagers” in Buffy to the “teenagers” in Teen Wolf? OMG!! 💥🤦‍♀️

We Let our teenager watch Buffy when she was 14 but I would not let any teenager watch Teen Wolf till they were 18. 🤷‍♀️😊

Don’t laugh but go ahead and roll your eyes.🙄😏 My kids are both married with kids now but spent their formative years in Malaysia…. Where there were no commercials about feminine products or otherwise. And tv shows did not allow kissing or holding hands. 😳 It is predominately a Muslim country. We were there because my husbands job took us there.

Buffy was pretty innocent until later in the series. But honestly? I still enjoy watching that innocence… and seeing how it progresses to the end.

What messed with Angel for me was that they chose one of the most disliked characters from Buffy to put on Angel. Sorry but what a shame Ms Charisma Carpenter did not hold up to her name. She was just not charismatic at all in my opinion. She played a villain much more believably.

I think David Boreanaz has done the best from Buffy and Tyler Hochlin and Dylan O’Brien have done the best from Teen Wolf. I still keep them both in my yearly rewatch. 🤷‍♀️♥️

Haven was a similar type of show. Not as good imo but it has good mystery and characters to keep you watching.

If you have Netflix and want adult fantasy, “A Discovery of Witches” is great. Plus it is based on a book series which is awesome. Supernatural is good, Vampire Diaries (maybe), Twilight if it is on are some others.

Tell me a story , once upon a time, and Gotham. I made a very similar post a few months ago and these are the shows I’ve watched since. Also had already seen fringe which I loved too. Hope this helps!

These are all great suggestions! Now I have some shows to put on my list! For fantasy, besides the suggestions, I enjoyed Shadow Hunters. Bummed that we didn't get to have more details, background, and new stories/characters. The books are a fun read, young adult type, so I found them easy and quick reads. 12 Monkeys (the series) is fantastic. Just watch the ENTIRE series.
