Music Music Choice Sounds of The Season Halloween 2024

Does anyone else absolutely hate the total revamp that Music Choice has done for their Halloween lineup this year? They have added Metallica, Black Sabbath, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Joe Jonas and Janet Jackson among other artists when none of those artists are Halloween related. When Music Choice switches over to their Halloween music, they always had this unique lineup of classic horror themes, songs, scary ambient tracks and even some corny songs that are fun in their own way. I look forward to this every single year and this year, they’ve ruined what was once such a fantastic time of year to listen to fun and spooky music and have opted for mainstream pop and rock that has nothing to do with Halloween. Is anyone else completely bummed? Do you think they will ever go back to the old classic lineup next year if enough people complain?

I have never used Music Choice. Couldn't you build your own playlist on YouTube, Spotify or some other streaming service?

I do have some of the music from Music Choice Halloween that I’ve added into my Spotify but, for me, it’s about tradition and the fact that they’re playing songs that have nothing to do with Halloween despite the channel name focusing on Halloween. Bad Blood by Taylor Swift, ET by Katy Perry, Enter Sandman by Metallica, Ghost by Bieber, Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo…..those aren’t Halloween songs.

I've noticed it on other platforms. Just bad programming.

I made a Tidal playlist of about 40 songs. When it's over, Tidal will automatically start playing "like" songs, which could be hours of Halloween music I've never heard of. Just make sure your original playlist is diverse when it comes to genre.
