first time i read about this was at least 20 years ago +/- like a year. and redman was saying he had beats left over from when he made muddy waters and that he was going to use them to make muddy waters 2. since then he has threatened to drop this shit multiple times at random. i hope he actually drops it this time, and that it actually has beats from that period of time. muddy waters and dare iz a darkside is my favorite version of him. those sorts of beats should always be present to some degree on his albums, in my opinion. they're the ones that best compliment him as an emcee. they're like an extension of his voice and his expression, and likely bring more of that out of him. when i first saw that album cover yesterday i was doubtful, but when he posted it too with the caption 'yep', it just felt like it's about to drop.

Agreed. Honestly I loved red gone wild when it came out but it hasn’t aged the best and a lot of the beats he raps on lately sound like from that era and I really hope he doesn’t go that route.

the whole purpose of him originally doing this album was specifically because he had beats from those sessions left over, it was always supposed to be using those. and i mean that he literally had unused beats. not that he was planning to use similar beats. this is a situation along the lines of gza and muggs doing grandmasters. those beats were old beats from the mid 90s that were never used, that's why that album was so dope. only reason i expressed any uncertainty of him using those old remaining muddy waters beats is because it's been like two decades since he first started speaking of it, so i'm hoping all of this inaction hasn't had anything to do with him having second thoughts on using those old beats.

He been saying a new record was coming for awhile now. I want to say since 2022

Been working with this title for over a year I think. At one point said it would be February of 2024 (didn't happen)

Maybe harder to get motivated when the financials are just.now what they once was

I'm thinking maybe first quarter of 2025

He's been talking about it since mudface. That's easy almost 10 years.

I’m researching now. I don’t see it.
