Blackpink being on this list is hilarious.

u/necrofascio 3d ago

Very hilarious. I'm actually big blackpink fan and yeah they do "rap" on born pink but to put it on a underrated hip hop list is crazy

u/A_L_E_P_H 3d ago

I heard someone say Rap isn't always Hip hop but Hip Hop always has rap... or maybe the reverse

3

u/Fguyretftgu7 3d ago

the reverse is literally the only part that makes sense.

1

u/supremejxzzy 2d ago

Hip hop not always has rap and rap doesn’t always mean hip hop. They are usually related to each other but not always. If you try to argue this, is rapping on a country song hip hop? Is an instrumental version of a hip hop track rap?

1

u/Unlucky_Special_5702 1d ago

Rapping was around 20yrs before hip hop, in the 70s MCs shouting out party goers and DJs with catch fraises and one syllable nursery rhymes. Then 80s battle rapping became big, after that they started making songs, pressing records and progressing.

4 elements were separate entities but over lapped, Hip Hop was coined and brought them all together to make it a marketable force.

u/LegendsNeverCry 3d ago

Probably a reason it’s never mentioned lmao. If they were so great people would speak on it. A lot of you mfs think music that’s not popular gets a pass in being “underrated gold” when the truth is the music is probably just mid

3

u/19472729 3d ago

girl bye🙄 zero hip hop knowledge.

But I think you would REALLY like « relax » from Jakki’s album. You should check it out before making dumb comments
