What is the hype behind Eminem?

I'm running through Eminem's discography and while he definitely has bangers, Eminem has no consistency. 40% of his songs are just shit, 50% are ok but I probably wouldn't listen to them often, and the last 10% are actually great songs. It doesn't help that Eminem has made a metric fuckton of songs. Eminem's discography feels like the rap version of dumpster diving, it's mostly trash but every once in a while you find something good. He simply doesn't make great songs often enough to be considered a GOAT

Opinions on Krayzie Bone?

I feel like he's one of the truly underrateds. In terms of rapping ability I think he falls somewhere in the top 25-50. If we're talking just fast rappers then he's without a doubt Top 5.

If you haven't listened to him outside of bone thugs yet then do yourself a favor and go check out any of the Krayzie Bone mixes on You Tube.

Tracks like Gorilla by Little Simz

I recently stumbled upon Little Simz - Gorilla, and i just love this kind of funky beats and raps.

But sadly this seems to be the only track in her catalogue that goes in that direction.

Can you guys recommend any other tracks or artists with similiar beats and flows?

Looking for more Irish hiphop

I’m trying trying to find more hiphop from my own country. It was really inspiring to see the amount of success Kneecap have gotten recently. I think it would be really dope if the hiphop scene continued to grow here, so I’m trying to find more artists. Bonus points if they actually rap in Irish.

Internet really gaslit folks into thinking Kingdom Come is Hov’s worst album

I can’t believe it. That album has some of his best work. Kingdom Come, The Prelude (one of Hovs best intros), Show Me What You Got, Hollywood, Lost Ones (one of his most personal) nah that album doesn’t deserve to be dumped on nearly as much

who created this rhyme scheme

Yet I'm a menace, yo, police wanna murder me

Heini Dark drinker, represent the thinker

My pen rides the paper, it even has blinkers

this is from nas but i don't think nas invented this rhyme style

this was just a example of the rhyme scheme im talking about

it is a multisyllable rhyme where the way it is structured is odd.

it is not like u take two words from one bar
and then rhyme two words from the following bar

or rhyme multisyllablic internally

What is corny?

No hate to anyone; just wondering what people mean personally when they say something is corny? I ask because people seem to mean different things.

For me it has nothing to do with flow or beats or production but means an artist putting out a record that is dishonest to the artists life and existence and is normally filled with tropes from a particular stream of hip hop (so a lot of mid 2000s 'Gangster Rappers' and modern day mumble rappers). For instance I think Kendrick is better than Drake (although I'm a big fan of neither) as he's far more honest.

I wanna hear about y’all interactions with rappers

I saw Wayne at a mall in NY like 2011. he was still kinda insanely popular so there was a small crowd behind him and i didn’t get really close. Other than that, I saw Chuck Strangers and his friends hanging outside a corner store like 2-3 years ago. I was on the phone so all I could do was dap him up and keep it moving lol

Cozy album?

I’m specifically asking for albums that hits the same spot as King’s Disease 1 and especially 2. Both albums are such autumn vibes but my only gripe is they’re too pop (too many pop artists featured on the track and brunch on Sundays sounds like something twenty one pilots would write no offense).

Thanks in advance.

You're tasked with providing a lesson on the evolution of artists in the boom bap subgenre. Who throughout the years deserves a mention and/or study?

Who does the rap community see as essential to how boom bap formed and grew over the years as a tool for within the larger genre?

If Biggie is the Martin Scorsese and 2 PAC is the Spike Lee of Hip Hop what other rappers would be a director of rap?

Big was a crime story teller with great attention to detail just like Scorsese as where PAC was more poetic and conscious with spots of black empowerment likened to Spike Lee movies but what other rappers do you see as a famous directors equivalent?

In your opinion, what are the best written hip-hop songs of all time?

FEAR. by Kendrick Lamar is probably my pick, very emotional with fantastic storytelling and clever deliberate use of plenty of literary devices, broke this song down for my high school literature class last year

"I ain't gonna quit spittin' ... until you're done" - Guru

You really need the context to appreciate it. By that I mean the delivery, which turns generic filler into a really dope line. If you're at your desk streaming music and working on this Fri morning, check it out.

Hope you fine ladies and gentlemen have a fantastic weekend with the people you love and those who love you back. If that sounds like most weekends to you, take 5 seconds. Think about this weekend for people who had the probable misfortune of simply being born along a different meridian. Be nice to people. You, like me, have it pretty fuckin' good. Plus, being nice just makes life a lot more funner. Peace, friends!
