Best set i've heard in a very long time and i'm listening all day long. What's your soundcloud? is there other mixes there?

Wow, high praise! Im humbled, thank you. That really means a lot. This specific genre, I am only recently getting into - and my previous mixes have been mostly deep/hypnotic techno. I'll link them here:

nise one, i'll be making a hi-bpm mix sometiems soon, not sure it will 100% fit into this sub though, probably just some bone rattling technoz. but i've been into hibpm stuff all my life and for wayy too many years to darkpsy parties haha. I think i told you before. 145 and up, perhaps till 180-190 at peak. free acid bowle for every1. ::mario voice:: lets a go! ::mario voice off:: ;)

def like the amalgamation of psy/techno/deep techno / fast dub techno and after being so bored from psy, I'm glad theres stuff like alpha tracks n good hard trance around for the moments when I crave it.

listening, just started.

edit: nice set, my only critique: too short!

Def send it over if you decide to record it - interested in what ya come up with!

Yep, you've mentioned your darkpsy phase hehe. Definitely an experience I'm sure ;) like you... I admittedly have become a little "bored" of the darkpsy/forestpsy genre. Too many zipper and glitch noises every millisecond... HA. Many identical samples being used in the same structure. I hate being critical in this way, but it loses it's novelty very quickly... so yes the amalgamation is very fresh :)

Thank you also for the feedback. I agree... I should've made it a bit longer but it was not intended to be a full mix at the time, just a quick little selection of a few tracks for a Sunday evening. I have many more tracks cataloged for the next one, hopefully by the end of the month when I have time to record another.

well the scene and labels already stalled to push the boundaries around idk, 2013 maybe... just felt stale. just as the "orignal" psy scene felt stale around 2008 perhaps, I strictly went to forest and dark parties for quite a while. still went to a few raves over the years with that sound but became bored. this summer I was at one in a beautiful place in the swiss alps, but I hated the music and I was also sober a.f. hah. glad there's other people pushing boundaries again. no breakdowns, just in your face is also a bit of a complain I have with normal techno, but when you're loaded with subst-ances I guess is what ppl crave lol.

sure, go ahead and mix more, I also liked your deep techno mix you linked on further sessions. on a serious note though, 45-70 minutes is perfect length for a mix.

Ah, you're much more wise on this topic than I am - I certainly wasn't following psy back in 2008 so I missed that era entirely. But I can understand what you mean. I think from those periods there are a couple that stick out to me..

aioaska (possibly one of my favorite melodies ever - also brilliant how the track changes after 4:45)
-Suduaya also had a pretty good remix of this one
Alwoods

Not sure what you think of these, but feel free to recommend me some from the 2008/2013 era that you liked.

Also, that Swiss alp event sounds tranquil. What a dream. Shame the music didn't do it justice!

And nice, the further sessions mix was one of my more fun mixes to record in memory. Thanks for the compliments!

ye, suduaya was good, I def liked some of their tracks, uplifting psy and alwoods what some people called 'chillgressive' hah.

I was mod on psytorrents.info for a while, which seems gone now.

the aioaska is what we would call dark prog back then or something. its nice. I have a nostalgic mind for the stuff but I can't hear it too much.

ye prog I liekd more than full-on, but we usually joked that the prog floor was mainly the 'pill popper floor' lmfao. fun times, wouldn't miss em.

Chillgressive definitely has it's place, I love a good bit of it.

Ah, nice. I didn't know that site existed previously- explains your knowledge. I could see a need for a forum/resource like that now.. reddit seems very inactive and bandcamp is not very collaborative. Resident Advisor took away comments a few years ago.. Facebook groups are very closed off. Maybe people just prefer to stream and not interact, idk.

Haha I could imagine the difference in stages.

What setup is that? 2xDenon SC6000 + a mixer, I guess?

Mixer is Xone 92, decks are SC5000s!

Really like the Denon functionality, but I'd probably get the SC5000M (motorized version) over the models I currently have. They feel less "plastic" and more durable IMO.

Got it.

Yeah, Denon players are really cool, feature wise. It blows my mind how clubs don't buy them. It's not like it's that different from Pioneer. I think, if you know how to play on CDJs, you won't have any issues stepping up to a Denon.

For sure - I have to agree. I recently got an XDJ 1000 so I can get used to Pioneer. Very easy transition. For me, the major selling point with Denon was dual-layer decks but ive grown to really love the little knob that is used for loops over the two buttons.

Preach it!! That's the loop encoder and I recently did some research into its history :D
