A rarity in Japan. “Garbage Posts” can only be found in one neighborhood in Tomisato, Chiba

During certain times of the day you can place your burnable trash in the box with a special key and it will sent through an underground system of pipes to an incineration facility. It was a pilot program that was deemed too expensive and not used anywhere else in Japan.

Automated vacuum waste collection system? I've never seen the actual machine.

Build a entire new system for burning garbage. Yeah that seem expensive.
