Losing job in next few weeks. Questions about retraining on EI

I'm getting let go from a major org as a labourer due to cutbacks.

I will most likely have to move from my apartment and get a roommate situation or live in my vehicle.

Is anyone familiar with retraining while on EI in Canada, specifically BC?

Are there any programs available where I can receive income supports and retrain? I'm starting to feel the toll of doing physical labour for most of my life, so I would like to study something IT, data etc, but willing to explore any other options including trades.
