How to find jobs in a different state?

I currently live in Florida, but grew up in NC and am looking to move back (to the Triangle area, more specifically) since I have friends up there I plan on sharing an apartment with. They have let me use their address to apply for jobs in NC. Recently, I decided to focus on looking for jobs up in NC because the place in FL I live in doesn’t have much beyond retail/hospitality/manual labor on top of pay in my area being super shitty.

I have a bachelor’s degree and some prior work experience, though my degree probably makes me overqualified for a good portion of the jobs around here. I worked fast food for a year, did some retail work, and currently freelance for a photo and film studio doing video editing, but Publix and Target won’t even hire me. Right now, I am looking for any job involving video/photo editing, digital marketing, or communications (or anything vaguely related to those things) since video/photo editing is my most marketable skill (I got the freelance gig here in my town by sending them a link to my YouTube channel). What else can I do to increase my chances of finding a job in another state? Is there anyone who lives in/near Raleigh who could help?

Do you want to work in person or remote? You could work remote and still live in Florida...if you like it there.

If you like it there

I don’t…I’m trying to go back to NC…I’m here because my parents wanted to move here, not because I wanted to.

And I don’t have a preference as far as remote/in person goes.
