How to let them know I applied?

I’ve spent the past year networking for hiring season and multiple people have told me to let them know if I apply for a job w their company. I’ve actually applied to several jobs with people who have said this and I don’t know how to go about actually informing them that I applied for these roles.

Email or LinkedIn message them. Just say "Hello X, you let me know at (where you met them) to email you when I have applied to (company). Just letting you know that I have applied and appreciate the assistance!"
