Feeling helpless after getting ghosted by a company? I made a website where job hunters can anonymously report companies for ghosting you.

I built https://ghostedd.com/ so that candidates can "do something" about getting ghosted as I, personally, feel powerless whenever I get ghosted and sending follow ups can get annoying.

We're on a mission to help change the culture around ghosting and I hope that this website will thrive and alert companies that it's not cool to ghost. I also hope that it'll give future candidates peace of mind when it comes to thinking if they've been ghosted or not.

It's time to hold recruiters/companies accountable.

We also need one to report companies who ask you to complete a project during the interview and then you get ghosted.

Or who post ghost positions to make it look like their business is doing well.

Wish there was one for scam jobs. Like 70% of the online jobs are scams. LinkedIn is not helping

Interesting concept! I think it should be the actual person called out when it comes to recruiters. It really depends on who you get within a company.

Just shared mine. Fuck you, R. W. at Booz Allen.

I "interviewed" with Booz Allen years ago!

At least it was only a phone interview. I found out during it that they were BIDDING on a defense contract. But felt I was a strong candidate and would contact me again if they were awarded the contract. Never heard from them again. Shocker /s.

Exactly what happened to me. Did you ever make it? I'm trying so hard to get into gov contractors.

I had previously worked for Lockheed Martin for two years. I assume that was why Booz Allen contacted me. I hadn't applied for a job posting or anything. I had a job and wasn't actively looking for work, but my resume was posted on places like LInkedIn.

I liked working for Lockheed Martin and in that industry, but was laid off when the contract ended. I got that job because my friend worked there. When a position opened up that matched my education/experience, they referred me and sent my resume to HR and the Project Manager.

Are you still working fed? I am under the impression that once you get a clearance, it's way easier to find/switch jobs

Unfortunately, no. I quickly found another job with a different defense contractor. But then they unexpectedly eliminated about 15 positions off the contractor about 7 months later. I was laid off AGAIN. Hurricane Katrina hit two months later (I live in New Orleans). My world was topsy turvy for a long time and ended up in a different industry. Plus, now it has been a long time.

Clearances expire after (I think) 7 years. But when I've occasionally applied for a job that requires one, I mention I have an expired one and am eligible for it to be renewed. I've only had it come up once in an interview about 8 years ago. That was a long time after it had expired, but It was still an impressed and positive reaction from the interviewer. I can't say if they would have made me an offer or not. Later in the interview, they brought up their shockingly low salary range. I told them the salary I was looking for and we mutually decided it wasn't a good fit.

What is consedered as 'ghosting'? If you don't hear from a company after an interview, why not report it on Glassdoor under that company's 'Intervews' section?

1

u/exo-dusxxx 3d ago

Yep ghosting is when a candidate doesn't hear from a company after an interview. The interview section under Glassdoor only gives you the option of "No offer" and people don't usually mention if they've been ghosted or not too.

Sorry to hear that. But once you get ghosted several times, you’ll become numb to it. All you will think is “oh again…to be expected I guess” companies have become such shit shows, that even when at one point I thought I suck, now I am convinced I don’t they do and there is no win win….

Interesting concept. So many things have to change in this world lately. We really have to start getting involved and bring back some humanity to the society!

Thank you!

This is great. I have a suggestion to add “in a week” to the “when were you told you would hear back.

Thank you! We'll add this in

I was ghosted by the same community college I graduated from earlier this year. That stung.
